Andrew - Need to rebalance it, need to make up billet adaptor plates, need to measure the OD and make sure it's built to spec... <sigh> I'll get to that dumb shaft later. I'm going to concentrate on other stuff for now.

How's your build going then? When will it be ready? Should be awesome to have two identical cars running around the track

Yeah i'm hearing you! i was well over it when the shit hit the fan the first time!

Its going along ok at the moment, slow and i ran into some Cam problems mainly with delivery and a supplier that just kept sending out the wrong crap time after time.. the cams are going back today and a refund in order, and time to stuff around with someone else..

Bottom end had been started on just basic cleaning etc, lots of work is going on with the motor now. i've decided if it was taking a long time to have it ready i may aswell extend the time and get some head work done. 270degree cams with 10.8mm lift :) porting and all the rest, i guess turbos will be the next thing holding me back!

cant wait to hear how the exhaust sounds!! i've bought the full race version with no meow, and full titanium front pipe too.. if you get yours running before me i demand to hear the exhaust!! haha

i dont think it will be ready for a couple of months.. how far are you off yours?

Mine is running, and it's bloody loud! I love it... Definitely too much for a road car, there's no way you could live with it everyday, but it's got a throaty rumbling growl note to it...

I'll take a video of it on the weekend...

Oh, and I've got a "race-modified" cat :)

I'll go for the titanium front pipes later... I have more than enough immediate future costs coming up in suspension and brakes!

I'll build the "proper engine" in a few months... This one is still reading 160 across all cylinders, so I just went for all the bolt-ons and oil control mods... That saved me a lot of time in getting the car running (as we both know), and I'll build a second engine on the side, but at least I'll have the car running while I go through a 6 month engine build!

I have renewed motivation to finish this thing, so hopefully withing the month, it will be on the track, but it'll be a year or two before it's "finished"

I dropped by Superlap and remembered why I was going through all this trouble and expense :nyaanyaa:

After months and months of seeing endless streams of money fly out the door and working tirelessly on a car that doesn't even move, it's so easy to forget what waits for you at the end of the road...

You need to goto a few race meets and remember what we're building these stupid things for!

So very true... without a race meet every now and then it's very easy to not be stuffed with it anymore, especially when it's been years in the build. I'm much the same, car should be done in a week or two, but it hasn't sunk in yet!

By the way, LOVE the exhaust. Absolute work of art.

Andrew, take the sump off to Leon at Performance Metalcraft. He will be able to modify the diff extension and make it fit. He has done several of these for us now.

Nice car and i am sure, knowing you, it will be a very high standard build up

Mine worked out ok, balance and dimensions in spec. I'll get around to posting the hi res adaptor pics today if time allows

Keep the faith it looks like a great build...tell me that exhaust was cheap...please :)

I gotta get up at 5am for a 6:15am tee off tomorrow

18X10 +12 on an R32 is quite ambitious

Yes, this car will require more than guard rolling, I fear that panel beating might need to be undertaken, but I'm going to wait until we get the suspension in there and initial setup... The negative camber will give me a bit of extra clearance...

A 6:15am tee off sounds like the perfect way to start the long weekend. When we going for a game Merli im only off 12 and need more practice

Gimme a few months... I need to work on my handicap too

mate...this is gold....the only other reason I am visiting Motorsport on SAU at the moment is this thread.

Setup is awesome so far....keep it up.

P.S. Something about the R32 's still stir's the blood.....doesn't matter how many R33's, R34's I see...the R32 is still the shit.

    • Yeh I think i'll message an old contact i had for ages that manages his own tyre shop now.. n tell him what i want n work with him before ordering..  Got this 17x9 +30 Driftteks on 245/45/17 PSR Drag Radials on the rear.. They fit well - for your reference in future - Rear guards  have been lipped in & minimal to non flaring of the rear Gaurds.
    • If only it were that easy! I also needed to remove seats, shocks, brake calipers, send my car through a fence, and use measuring and ended up guessing because I didn't remove seats, shocks and brake calipers. It can be hard sometimes Can be a little more complex than 'just measure' if you want to truly measure the entire wheel through all of it's suspension travel. But if you aren't going for every last mm then yeah, you can check the space you currently have and guesstimate.
    • If you own a car, and it has wheels on it, and you know the offset of those wheels, and you have a measuring device, you have everything you need to work out if other wheels will fit.
    • Will this fit? but they are staggered set - RAYS 57DR SEMI GLOSS BLACK 18x8.5 +37 | 18x9.5 +38 5-114.3 STAGGERED SET   or If no go could just get a set 4's wheels of 18x8.5 +37 5-114.3 - would i run 8.5's 235s up front n 245's at the back if I do?   Thanks.
    • Put a clamp on your return line. I have a feeling it's sucking air, and introducing bubbles to your fuel. With a lot of fuel, less problematic. I'd honestly be redoing all the lines in the tank and clamps on everything.   Also, you've given two different answers to the same question: Asked if being followed by the police you could get down to use the whole tank, you said yes you could, so long as you keep off boost. However, you then followed this up that free revving, it would also cause the issues. I'm doubting free revving is enough to make any noticeable boost on what is likely a decent sized turbo.   So now I have to ask, can you actually drive it lightly and use all the fuel, or does it break up even free revving? Also, have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it? Can you hear the pump change noise at all when you're having this issue?
