hey guys. i recently got engaged in feb this year and now we are in the process of ideas for the wedding.

just wondering if ne of u guys have ne ideas on venues, limo company's, catering, photographers, and what not.

if u have been married or have been to a wedding that you thought u were well looked after then please feel free to let me know as we would greatly appreciate it.

or even if u know someone in one of the industries above let me know to please.

well with the limos i suggested to my fiance bout skylines but she said no as it would be too hard getting out iof it in her dress..

( but that doesnt rule out me going in one and having a convoy of skylines:D:D)

thanks in advance Aj

Argh! Since IE died on me I have to start all over again

Congrats on the engagement

Luke and I were married March last year and I wanted to include his Skyline as much as we could, as it was his pride and joy. (and we are both car nuts!)

For cars, we had his skyline as the "main" bridal car - He and the best man and grooms man arrived in his car at the ceremony/reception. My bridesmaid was also in another skyline, and my maid of honor travelled in another.

I arrived in a HSV clubsport, for similar reasons to your fiance, I didnt want to get in and out of the skyline in my big boofy dress and also I wanted my dad to be in the car with me (he gave me away)

Here are some pics:

All lined up for a photo shoot:

and as they arrived at the ceremony/reception:

For the guys bonbonieres we used

Put It Out There and had personalised stubby coolers made up in blue with white writing. They were awesome to deal with, we had the get away car as the picture and got them to change the number plate from "HELLO" to "NUTR33" which is hubbys number plate. I definately reccomend them to anyone!!

Perhaps the most talked about (and one of my favourite features) at our wedding was our personalised cake toppers..... I had a mini replica "NUTR33" skyline made up, along with a custom bride and groom!! :( Irene was amazing - and the price at the time was a BARGAIN! (I think its gone up significantly now though) My mother in law and sister in law made the cake and decorated it, and now we have our cake toppers sitting in a display cupboard to keep forever :)

And for resources and ideas, I joined up to the forums at www.i-do.com.au and found some awesome advice and reccomendations.

Anyway enough rambling from me for now - Feel free to PM me if you have any more QN's or want some more pics :)

I went to Sky High in Mt Dandenong this afternoon just for having a look around, there's a couple having a wedding there with limo... and a hired private garden for the function. you can do the similar, PLUS a few Skylines if you want or have friends that are willing to participate.

I reckon the best place to get married is Butleigh Wootton on Glenferrie Rd in Kew.

http://www.butleighwootton.com.au/main.html

They've won best caterer 3 years in a row. Food is fantastic, the central staircase and surrounding gardens are sensational. There is enough parking, and it's close to the city. Very reasonable prices as well.

We also had a look at the Willows on St Kilda Rd.

Probably only good for up to around 60-70 people. Little cramped for more. But can't beat the convenience of the location.

(All the pics are of Butleigh Wootton)

For celebrants, Des Stow is very professional and fantastic, and also has very competitive prices

http://www.theweddingdirectory.com.au/Marr...1151-7-0-0.html

For photographers, these can range from $500 to $5000. We chose a relatively cheaper company and spent the savings on the honeymoon. The pictures, while may not be award-winning, were still great. Maria will also bend over backwards to accomodate your needs.

It was a really good day. heaps of photo's ! (which i havnt seen yet)

Oh and we also had a camera man, which took shots of us leaving the house. it was good.

wait... wat? R33 cake topper for your wedding cake?

Yes :P

We are both car nuts, and all of our friends know how much hubby loves his car and the long story behind it so I figured it could be a cool novelty. :D

where/when?

been engaged since last july so time to start looking at this shit

they are on fairly often.

we went to the one at Telstra Dome in January, it was pretty good (not set up very well) but had the cars on display and then inside had heaps of photographers (we are photographers so knew like everyone there!), also on display is cakes, stationery, gift ideas, fashion show of dresses and suits

and then in February we went to the one at the Exhibition Centre in Carlton, it was good, similar sort of stuff but nice and spaced out, more cars, different photographers, cakes etc and fashion show.

we also went to a venue expo for a particular caterer, that was really good.

most of the expos are advertised in the bridal magazines, does your fiance get any of them?

the expos are at the start of the year and then again mid year i think - http://www.bridalexpos.com.au/ and http://www.ourweddingexpos.com.au/vic.htm give you a bit of info

    • sold listed as a Tomei LSD 1.5 Way For 1998+ Nissan Skyline ER34 25GT RB25DE w/Open R200 https://www.ebay.com/itm/174006114594?campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms=&campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=71883f2ccc571356e0a757bc7adfdde2&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms= it went in like butter all gears, alignment, back lash etc, rotation and clearances correct, and if rolling all rotates smooth and free when coasting down road , clutch in or out over 10 mph smooth... its the binding, clunking and jerking from a stop that is most concerning, also seems like its going to tear the tires off in 10 miles of normal road driving.
    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
