AWESOME...So happy for him ;) A lot of time and effort has gone into that thing.

I take it he was running at the 95dB Maserati day. Hmmm, EPA ruining track days :D

Nope, Maserati club was at Winton today.

I thing it was a holden/ford club day where 1:30's is fast...

It was a Marque Sports Car Club day. Similar times though as it's mostly pre 80's stuff.

i cant afford semi slicks at the moment, and i just cant run on the streeters any more. You saw how munted they were after just the one session i got in last time, blisters galore! now the suspension and wheel alignment is bangin', the poor old federal's just cant keep up!

I've run 1.23's Sandown and 1.52 at PI with 280rwkw on hankook streets and have done about 4 or more track days with heaps of laps and a couple deca's and there still 80% left. You might have scored a dud set of tyres. Where had they blistered in just one session? You should have no problems running steets. I would be confident with a low 1.22 at Sandown and a 1.50 at PI on street with under 300rwkw if I had more experience and some good pads. Still got std $30 pads in the rear not helping me.

Russ whats up with the car. Hope its not to bad!

Nice work by Newton. Good to here its getting close to the times its built for.

What Hankooks were you running Rowdy?

Hankook evo S1. They have copped a hammering and still look good. They have started to go hard but their not to bad for a few years old worth of driving (excluding the time the car has sat in the shed recently) and the amount of heat cylces they have been through. I'll still use them until their dead. I would recommend them for the price. Not the cheapest or most expensive but they have lasted.

That's what I've got on now...Good to hear they shouldn't give in on the track with a bit of power, and I definitely wouldn't be pushing as hard as you would've been if I do happen to make it to a track day in the future..

Ao fark! What do you mean all smashed up?

Hit a wall yesterday at winton drift day. On the left before the old turn 1.

I'll post some pics when I get em.

Not too bad damage but you don't have to worry about the little crack in my bar now haha. I hit front left.

Not too unhappy about it. I've had a good run.

I was able to get home by making the car a non turbo cos the cooler was destroyed.

Those EVO S1s are remarkable. I just drove on those at the Nurburgring. On a 95% dry track they were incredible.

The owner of the rental car, Theo is some sort of super nutter. He took me for a drive in the rain (pissing) and the entry speed and corner speed in the rain on those tyres completely blew my mind.

I'm gettting those next for the GTR...

Great work Newton... will you be at this weekends WRX sandown?

Out of curiosity what car was this guy driving (from the MSCA day results)???

33 Greg ALCOCK 1:19.3413

Cheers fellas,

Yeah got kicked off cos my bonnet was lifting off, too much noise and apparently I was drifting not grip driving lol that couldnt be anything further from what I was trying to do. It was a 75db day so I guess it was always going to be a short sesion lol. This was by far the most intense drive of my life. The car still wants to kill me but now it just goes faster. Got a good idea of some small changes to make to make it eaiser to drive but as Jack said there is definatly a fair bit more in it. Im just glad ive restored Brisbys faith in RWD's and given him enough material to give the GTR guys hell :) It also great that the car is finally at a point that I have been trying to achive. Development wont be going much further, just looking forward to paying for fuel, tyres and learning a heap.

Huge thanks to Benno for screwing together a awesome bit of machineary and Scotsman for working on the car with me Saterday night so that I could get to the track. Fuel system didnt miss a beat thanks to you.

Here is the vid

Greg Alcock was in a Lotus Exige with a turbo honda motor. Had no idea he was going that quick till I got home last night.

With the changes you have made to the rear end i was expecting it to be more subtle, but no, its still bonkers. congrats on the 19! so what do you think it has in it?? it will be interesting to see what a wing does for corners like turn 1.

i wont be surprised to see you knock many seconds off. Real wheel drive FTW!

I have not given a fark abot my car for months now, in fact i wanted it burned. But right now i am thinking i may actually want to drive the thing again  Fark times, i just want to drive i can have a real go in again. :)

Ryan and Adam are now out there circulating BS fast...means i can just try to follow them and improve my PBs :D

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
