I was at the bridge and waved the yellow after you past by slowly!

You could hear the knocking quite clearly, I just thought damn, that ain't cool!

Aww, I feel special... All this flag waving from you and Chris...

I was very tempted to take it 4WD and cross country it, but didn't know what the infield would be like, so attempted to keep her off the racing line and out of everyone's way...

Half thought of pulling over, but that would have just ruined the session for people. Motor was already f**ked by that stage...

Had to drive it up onto the car trailer this morning anyway... Unfortunately leaving skylines over night doesn't make them self heal...

Ah well, it goes to the mechanic end of July... Then we'll work out what to do, but I'm thinking a cheap fix of another stock RB30 bottom end, and while that's getting murdered, having the other block fully built with a dry sump setup to prevent the age old oil surge from happening.

Was still a great day, and I can proudly walk away saying "I've driven Oran Park GP Circuit... And decimated a motor out there too" LOL

150KMs on that motor after run in... And who was the first person there to inspect how well I'd spun a bearing... Duncan... ;)

Awesome day and glad to see everyone enjoyed themselves... apart from the list of incidents and engine failures... oh yeah and that debarcle of driver briefing... lets not waist an hour of track time again like that!!!! Perhaps a slightly different arrangement can be thought out for future events... ie.. Quick usual 15 min talk for all peeps, then newbies stay behind for the full version, whilst the experience guys go out to get their first sessions done. By the time (30-45 minutes) the briefing is done for newbies, its their turn to get out on the track.... just my 2c....

To those peeps that i jumped in with, WELL BLOODY DONE!!! Really impressed with each and everyone of you! George, Charles, Andy & Ian (think that was it) I hope my ear bashing and dodgy lines provided a bit of assitance to the day!

Stu mate that car of yours is absolutely brilliant!! Was fun chasing it in the failvia and watching you constantly fight the thing for traction... congrats on its first outing and making it thru in one piece! Testiment to driver and builder!!

Failvia held up well and gave me some good practise for our next Round of SSCC!! ;)

Bring on the next one!!! Congrats to all that organised and helped out... the day was a great success!

Chris I was having a ball in the MX5 and I was a passenger so it's no wonder Ando was giggling in the driver's seat!!!

this day was such an awesome day and I can't wait for the next one (but sorry to those guys who have lost engines)

Ah Ben, i love that mentality, but spare a thought for those of us that used more than 4 litres of fuel on the day lol.

i had thirty in the tank for session 1 and added 20 every session, did 4 1/2 sessions and have 10 left at $1.80 a litre. give me a week brus.

screw work, OP GP tomorrow 8am who's in?

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
