. I'm having trouble with the Intermediate nascar challenges on the outside lane. So hard to get gold, I think i've had at least 100 attempts.

u serious, must be because you use a controller, i did it first time with a wheel

man has anyone fully upgraded the exhaust on a premium s13 with the little 1.8? ive got it at 350hp and man does it sound good and go hard. i too was pretty disapointed at all the standard cars, they are just gt4 with shiny paint..

doesnt matter i guess when ive got my 660hp r33 gtr v-spec (premium), and loving it!!

im having trouble getting gold on the those as well, i think the closest i came was within .010.. yes im using controller. i suspected that was why. having a real hard time keeping a smooth line.

is anyone else's not connecting to the community server? on the GT mode home page i go to community and it comes back saying error fail cannot do that etc

Yeah I'm using the control but changed acceleration to R2 for throttle control. I'ts a pretty intense 13 seconds lol. I was going to buy a wheel for this game but after maxing the mods on the Veyron and R35 the games just way to easy and not that fun anymore. I'll probably get a Driving force GT if I keep playing, is anyone using this wheel here? Or should I get the G25/G27?

Given up on nascar with the controller =/ Bronze is all I can manage on the advanced one =/

Finished all the challenges bar ^ and only managed to get silver for the advanced AMG plus one silver in that tour thing with the WRC focus....

Now need to save money for a LeMans car =/

So far extremely farken disapointed is an understatement.

Don't know what the fark they were doing for the last 3-5 years but it certainly wasn't making an interesting game.

Each GT so far, I've sat down and literally have thought WOW. But this one has nothing!

About the only thing i can honestly say I've thought, man this a big improvement on the last GT is the exhaust notes, thats it.

The AI is something i would expect in mario bros game. AI drivers just tap you and your in a spin into the grass, yet they just circulate like nothings happened.

You can be on the racing line and they just plough into you. Its like you need to get out of their way.

It also has some crap catch up type thing built in. Just did too back to back races in the same car, Race 1 in second place was a fight to get the lead. Race 2 gave everyone 30secs start and caught the field in a lap.

Not sure if i was epecting too much after playing PC sims like GTR2 but so this is absolute crap.

Yeah graphics are great, and yeah nice selection of cars, but I'm close to board shitless after 1 day.

Time to hand in my GT Fanboy badge. I buy the playstations purely for this game and well, looks like it'll be the last one i get.

Yep I noticed that aswell.

When you have an inside view of a premium car and there is a shadow cast over the windscreen or something, it is jagged as hell!

The thing is, if it had came out when it was ment to it would be a glorious game, the fact they delayed it for so long really screwed them over.

If number 6 comes out within the next couple of years I think that is going to be the one to watch out for.

+1 I noticed that too. To be quite honest Forza 3 may be a better game over all the GT5 and this is coming from the man who bought a PS3 nearly a year ago hoping for this game to come out soon. Its not a bad game its just dissappointing because after so long you would expect it to blow Forza 3 out of the water not just get close to or just equal it.

Fark you guys whinge a lot.

Anyone else have trouble with getting gold with slalom challenges with a controller?

Yes, some of the challenges are very very difficult with the controller, i've been reading the GT5 boards and it seems very few people if any have been able to do the later NASCAR challenges without a wheel.

bobbeh - iracing.com !!!

yep, thats next on the list. Have a month off over Xmas :)

I don't know, to me its not that its bad, its just that the entire concept/game play is exactly like the last one.

Personally i would prefer shit graphics but a game that I'm so addicted too that i don't go to sleep, instead of this artsy piece of crap we got. I mean a photo section? FARK OFF, its a game.

This game to me seems like it was purely made to stroke some clowns ego at polyphony cause he thought he could produce the prettiest cars in a game.

Its not whinging if its true :D

Oh and while I'm at it, what the fark is with that message each time you get a car, now you have black paint, now you have blue paint. We farken get it!!

As if this thing didn't have enough screens to click through without garbage like that.

GT5 is like when an actor kills it at the box office and then does one of those back alley semi ghey pron films to show how talented he his. Doesn't matter how you look at it, it still sux balls.

That is one of the most annoying things I have found.

yea the paint thing is a pain in the ass. and if you use one of those colours to paint another car, you cant use that colour again! this is bullshit.. if you go to any panel shop you pay the money and they'll paint your car any colour you want. you dont have to have acquired the paint beforehand lol.

the other fkn annoying thing.. the process you have to go through to accept each prize car.. anyone else get fkd off doing that constantly?

do we have like a sau gt5 group or anything? would be cool too have heaps of us sharing drivers etc

lol yes there is alot of whingeing here.

finally got it and played the hell out of it over the last 2 days. lvl 15 already and i find it hard to stop playing.

sure the shadows are a bit dicky, and in true GT form the sounds are all sorts of wierd. bumping into cars sounds like hitting a wheely bin on the roadside.

but i just dont care. after spending alot of time getting golds in the Nurburgring Merc challenges i was hooked, the physics are freaking awesome behind a wheel. you feel more bumps and bits than GT4. even the old 300 gullwing gets loose over the hills, while the SLS just sticks, and its just a joy to drive. i can see myself loosing alot of real life time flying around the ring in every car i can get my greedy little hands on.

BTW the reason it feels like a GT game is because it is.....if it had been too different i would have been disappointed. and if you think forza looks better then you need a better TV

and yes the trial around the top gear track in the Elise is a bit very annoying....im sure an Elise doesnt just over steer at any speed when you do anything...lol

MORE GOLDS!!!! silver just wont do....

    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
    • My experience with Rising Sun Exports Before agreeing to the sale I tried to do as much research as I could (obviously), his Facebook reviews are 98% and he goes Live at least once or twice a week. I contacted 2 people in the UK who had used him for their imports, both had positive feedback. His explanation and talk through of the import process was thorough, answering any query no matter how stupid it was. It felt as soon as the money was sent, communication dropped off. I asked for shipping updates every 2 weeks or so, not wanting to pester him, he never had any updates. I wasn't informed the car had been dropped off at the port, I only found out by his Facebook story. I asked for the photos taken at the port, knowing he would need some for insurance purposes. I received a few 5 second clips and that's it. When asked again, he said his staff had them. Weeks later I asked again, he tells me he doesn't have any, but does have 50 photos from the original advert. I never received them. I eventually got the documents sent via WhatsApp after I mentioned the port was requesting them. I purchased a CarVX report, to find out the vehicle is a Grade R with recorded accident damage, first recorded in 2017 when it was first auctioned. He never told me the grade, then again I didn't ask. His response was "Grade R means nothing, it wasn't chassis damage". Still, I would have liked to have been informed about it. Jon prides himself on being open and honest when it comes to inspecting cars, it's his main job doing so at the auctions for customers. When the vehicle arrived in the UK I noticed a few little cosmetic issues. It's a 21 year old car so it wasn't going to be mint condition. The side skirts are cracked on each corner and the sealant is failing. The front grill on the bonnet/hood isn't secured very well, mounting studs are missing. Both minor things, but again, it would have been nice to be told. During a Facebook Live walk around video of the vehicle, he mentioned it has a front Whiteline anti roll bar/sway bar. While on the inspection ramp, I noticed the stock item has been installed. When first questioned, his response was "the ARB? Switched? Since when, it never had them". Since sending video and photo evidence I've not received a response. I'm probably being over critical of the overall condition of an old car, but all I wanted was honesty (which he claims to have). I'm aware I wasn't his only customer, he's busy doing XYZ but other reviews praise him for great communication with regular updates and photos, I felt I didn't receive the same treatment.
    • I was able to get some underside photos while the car was on the ramp The suspension is all Altezza/IS200/IS300 so getting part's will hopefully be less of a headache
    • Welcome to my 2004 Toyota Mark ii IR-V Fortuna (series 2) With a 1JZ-GTE powerplant under the bonnet (hood) it'll give me plenty of scope for power upgrades. For those who aren't familiar with imports, the 1JZ-GTE is a 2.5L 6 cylinder VVTi engine with a single turbocharger. This has the factory R154 5 speed gearbox, along with a aftermarket 2 way LSD differential (brand unknown). Under the arches are a set of CST Zero 1 alloys, 18x9 +30 225/40 up front and 18x9.5 +15 265/35 on the rear. The car was quite low in Japan and there's evidence of the wheels catching the rolled arches/fenders. The tyre's aren't great so I'm in two minds whether to replace both or just the tyres and put up with the wider wheels on the rear. The car still uses stock brakes with the addition of some braided hoses. The exterior is stock with the exception of a BN Sports front bumper and a replacement Fortuna grill  Moving to the interior, the steering wheel has been replaced with a dished MOMO steering wheel (which will get swapped for my Momo Tuner for the time being) Defi Link Gauges are mounted above the climate controls and on the A pillar, the Oil Temp,Oil Pressure,Water Temp and Boost gauges should help with spirited and track driving  The stock seats have been replaced with some retrimmed Recaro bucket seats. Being a larger build these are a little snug, unfortunately the orange isn't for me so I'll look into replacing these down the line. Other modifications include a twin plate clutch, Blitz intercooler, Evolve alloy radiator, a stainless exhaust with decat, HKS EVC-S boost controller and coil overs
