Not having a stab or anything, but you from word go was planning on running this thing sub 10 seconds, so why didn't u build it to andra spec to start with? Wouldn't that have been easier then all this down the track modifying?

Yeah it's a bit of a kick in the pants, but its a plus in a way, we get to fix up a few things in the engine bay we had drama's with and add some more go fast bits to test out every 0.1sec counts now lol.

Any manual gearbox car quicker than 11sec must have a full 360 degree 6mm steel scatter shield around the bell housing to cover your clutch and flywheel. Pain in the arse for a GTR as there is very little room and gets in the f**king way of everything, ANDRA's rules are getting more ridiculous every year.

Couldn't agree with u any more duncan, my mate told me a horry story or his mates xygt where the flywheel sheered thru the dash...missed his legs by only a few inches! With the weight and centrifugal force with teeth, its a deadly weapon

But still a nightmare to get one to fit in there, i say kudos to you for trying, i woulda looked at it and sent it to someone else lol. You are flat out squeezing a fart in there, let alone a scatter shield :( On a brighter note, fantastic build, and even better results, this thing looks tops and goes like a scalded cat to boot!

Update time:

Nothing much has changed over the last few months, only waiting on the strain gauge to come. Engine is back in the car and the bell-housing guard is complete and installed. A few minor mods have been done in the engine bay nothing drastic. When the strain gauge rocks up the car will be straight on the trailer heading to Brisbane for a tune up and a healthy dose of more HP, We have also been developing a system for the H Pattern Dogbox to give us quicker shift times, will not be releasing any details yet until it is tried and tested and hopefully does what it is suppose to do. Mark has also got some trick electronic gizmo's to put in as well which will get the MPH up but again secret squirrel business can't release any details. So next time we hit the black-top times will fall fast hopefully.

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
