OK to start with here are my upgrades before the Piggyback.....and also a big thanks to the all guy's at Envy imports for putting up with me today.

Powerduct(lol)

Air Fliter Element

Highflow GT30/71 with Garrett BB set

Dump pipe

Manual bleed valve

Standard tune is shown in Green.....the Standard ECU was taking over the piggyback at 5,750rpm.....hence the abrupt end at 164KW's....if it ran all the way to 6,500rpm's it would probably go to 170kw's.

Dyno tune is in Red. PSI has been lifted to 18psi but still bleeds off to 15psi. Response has only been shortened slightly out of the hole. Power is delivered a bit smoother. The biggest problem I had was how much power was lost through the standard intercooler after a run(approx 20-25kw's). The other small problem was wheel diameter.....the non AR-X's will always make more power because of this. Fuel economy is awesome... normally I get in between 5.8 to 6.2....a 50km run in peak hour saw 8.8 and that was with a couple of squirts. Oh and no problems at all with fuel.

So upgrade advice before tune with the mods above.....a good sized intercooler(does not need to be huge though) and a good electronic boost controller and smaller diameter wheels.....then you may see 210 to 220KW's everytime

nice!

after going for a drive in Dannys the other day i cant wait to get stuck into modifying the m35.

hows yours going with the ecu and transmission?

i think you've confused me about the "the Standard ECU was taking over the piggyback at 5,750rpm" bit..

Transmission is fine......just gotta make sure I put in the right fluid in future though :)

Don't worry...I am just as confused as well!....but thats what I was told.......we never did another run with the standard ECU settings so this is the only one I could show and give you a ruff idea of where we came from.

So you hit your target of 200awkw then (or am I reading it wrong?).

If so... Very nice mate! Well done!! I guess the turbo makes all the difference... who would've thought?

Already have a custom FMIC template designed by PWR which will suite the M35's quite nicely I think... but at $850, it won't be going in any time soon. :)

Again, great to see your results... No us high flowers have something to aim for :)

I had a similar problem with the Emanage, the ecu would kill power early if something was out. It may have been the airflow meter?

So when are you getting the boost controller...:)

Must be quick now, how is the gearbox taking the power?

Boost controller will be a while.....and the gearbox should hold for a good amount of time I hope.....if I buy anything else it will be an intercooler(sway bars and Nismo stickers on the way)

My problem at the moment is that my wife has no idea that I have received and already spent my tax return.....I am so dead when she finds out how much I got back :) !!!!!!.....whats the worst she can do?......take the sex that I am not already getting off me?????.......or then again she might sit me down and make me listen to her :)

I'd say f**k your wife, it's your money after all. Well that's what I said to my bitch at least.

Gold!!!!! :) ....does your wife get on these forums much??? :)

PS. 5 minutes away from leaving work from my first real squirt with no traffic.

lol craig let us know how it goes :)

sorry no luck....bugger bugger bugger.......followed all the way down Beecroft RD by police only to be pulled over at Pennant Hills shops and breath tested.....it's a conspiracy!!!!

Dammnnnn

im really REALLY jealous now. i want to break my turbo and install a hiflow and be forced to put the emanage on lol

Me too - despite the expense, I'm kinda *hoping* for a reason to install an HKS GT-RS on my s1 C34, then turn it up to about 15psi.

It's already got around 167rwkW on 7psi and 184rwkW on 10psi, so 200 at ALL wheels shouldn't be too far off!

Mods so far:

- Walbro fuel pump;

- GReddy FMIC;

- APEXi PowerFC;

- GReddy Profec-B Spec II boost controller;

- Bell-mouth front/dump pipe

- high-flow catalytic converter

- 3" exhaust

She was prolly interstate. If she really finds out you will be intestate. :)

Which intercooler are you looking at? Full kit or custom unit??

The worst she could do is have her mother move in for "moral support".

1. Indeed. Isn't that part of the deal?

2. Yes. Yes it is.

3. In those words? Suuuuure.

Haha just tell her you cant multi task are trying to breathe, cant listen and breathe at the same time now can we! haha

hhhhhmmmmmm!!!!

Wife just found out the I have received and already spent my tax return...........there was a very long pause on the phone followed by " I am to pissed off to talk to you right now.....we will chat when I get home"

Options guys.....HELP!!!!!!

Option one: Get drunk before I get home!

Option two: Don't go home

Option three: Flowers and chocolate

Option four: Find new wife

HELP.....please!!!!! :P

    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
    • Nah, that is hella wrong. If I do a simple linear between 150°C (0.407v) and 50°C (2.98v) I get the formula Temperature = -38.8651*voltage + 165.8181 It is perfectly correct at 50 and 150, but it is as much as 20° out in the region of 110°C, because the actual data is significantly non-linear there. It is no more than 4° out down at the lowest temperatures, but is is seriously shit almost everywhere. I cannot believe that the instruction is to do a 2 point linear fit. I would say the method I used previously would have to be better.
