January: do every race I can at Oran Park before it closes. Right now that is Irace on 14-15/1 and the final meet on 23-24/1. And give Neil a hand at the last state supersprint on 16/1.

March - Bathurst Sprint, Lake Mountain Sprint

November - National Supersprint in Qld (I thought it was QR, but maybe Morgan Park?). And whatever else I can do when I'm up there.

And as many rounds of NSW combined touring as I can

Santa bought me a new toy, looking to do as much as i can with it this year without going interstate

Australian Supersprint Championships are at Morgan Park, Nov 13-14.

Mick,,,seems you were a good boy last year,,,Santa has really looked after you. :D:D:D

Don't listen to the tin-tops,,,that thing is way cool. I swear before I'm too old to drive,,,my bums gonna be in a superkart,,,if only for a test.;)

Duncan,,,I booked the day off on friday for your irace,,,so you have me both days.

2010 plans for me are:-

1/ Get the Radical sorted properly

2/ Thrash the living shit out of it

3/ Do as many interstate stuff I can afford

4/ Start doing stuff in the Skyline,,,she's been wob-webbed for far too long

Neil.

With the Tas Super Series starting 14th Feb and my car looking like this with no money to rebuild........

Im guessing Round 3 in May is my best bet at this stage. I was looking to improve the car, not repair it!!

Im also thinking of droping a 351 into an XE falcon for some club days and then.......maybe!

But I have no money to do either at the moment so this year is not looking good.

mebbe....who has info on this??? why aren't we talking about it? I would prefer not to have to head to tassie to race. its expensive and the people there are scarey. like tim and ben

oh BTW my plans changed.

I killed my first motor for the year on the 16th day of it...new record.

At least I got to compete in the last race meet at Oran Park, and I set the fastest lap and was leading (until the motor blew lol)

Not sure if we'll be there or not. Would like to think so, as the roads around that area are fantastic and should suit the Evo 4 just nicely  and why arent we talking about it?!?!?

Other than that, will be at Targa for a crack at Rookie, a year on the dirt in the VCRS and the occasional trackday with the WRX club in Vic.

Tassie is still the shizz...just dont make eye contact with the locals.

Well done mate. Be proud.

I've got a perfectly good fully built low km long motor laying around if you are interested Dunc? I took my old motor out just before targa wrest point and put in a new one as we didnt have time to identify the problem (turns out it was just a cracked head so my old motor which had really just done Targa rookie and a couple of other little things is sitting around covered in plastic).

Oh - and I'm also planning to make High Country. I should hopefully have time back on my side by then!

If it turns out that way and you need a Nav, I know of a good lightweight one who would be available

we can sence fear.

anyway i'm planning to put a last minuate entry in for rookie rally in the gtst. It'll be dependent on if the car is ready.

after that i'll run the running in the tas super series, and hopfully there will be some more invitational races

I just posted my hillclimb series registration.

And did a deal on a 180SX to transfer my gear into :D No more zip ties and tek screws! I guess the novelty factor of running a complet sh.tbox wore off...

well the first round of the hillclimb series is this weekend :D I only just got the new 180SX fired up for the first time on Saturday, and drove it for the first time yesterday, so I'll guess it will be another example of working till the wee hours of Friday night getting it ready. Its not exactly finished - ran out of time & money to get everything done, so to get it going in time for round 1 I had to swap back to the standard 4stud front hubs & brakes with borrowed wheels & tyres. Combine that with the suspension changes I made while swapping all the gear over from the old car and anything could happen this weekend! At least it will be out there to hopefully collect some points for the series. Looking forward to another run at Mt Cotton as I haven't been there since 2007 in the old Datto 1200.

    • Yeah well per the video it took 15s for the stock unit to start up....even if I give it a few seconds discount for starting that is at least 12 sec before you get a reverse camera if you are trying to leave a park.  The android unit is way faster, but 2016 for the stock unit is a long time ago in consumer electronics
    • Yea that’s why I said ima test them with multimeter and see the reads.
    • Only at idle. Isn’t a problem when rev it seems.
    • @Haggerty This seems silly to ask, but are you confident in your ability to tune the Haltech?
    • Next on the to-do list was an oil and filter change. Nothing exciting to add here except the oil filter is in a really stupid place (facing the engine mount/subframe/steering rack). GReddy do a relocation kit which puts it towards the gearbox, I would have preferred towards the front but there's obviously a lot more stuff there. Something I'll have to look at for the next service perhaps. First time using Valvoline oil, although I can't see it being any different to most other brands Nice... The oil filter location... At least the subframe wont rust any time soon I picked up a genuine fuel filter, this is part of the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. Access can be found underneath the rear seat, you'll see this triangular cover Remove the 3x plastic 10mm nuts and lift the cover up, pushing the rubber grommet through The yellow fuel line clips push out in opposite directions, remove these completely. The two moulded fuel lines can now pull upwards to disconnect, along with the wire electrical plug. There's 8x 8mm bolts that secure the black retaining ring. The fuel pump assembly is now ready to lift out. Be mindful of the fuel hose on the side, the hose clamp on mine was catching the hose preventing it from lifting up The fuel pump/filter has an upper and lower section held on by 4 pressure clips. These did take a little bit of force, it sounded like the plastic tabs were going to break but they didn't (don't worry!) The lower section helps mount the fuel pump, there's a circular rubber gasket/grommet/seal thing on the bottom where the sock is. Undo the hose clip on the short fuel hose on the side to disconnect it from the 3 way distribution pipe to be able to lift the upper half away. Don't forget to unplug the fuel pump too! There's a few rubber O rings that will need transferring to the new filter housing, I show these in the video at the bottom of this write up. Reassembly is the reverse Here's a photo of the new filter installed, you'll be able to see where the tabs are more clearing against the yellow OEM plastic Once the assembly is re-installed, I turned the engine over a few times to help build up fuel pressure. I did panic when the car stopped turning over but I could hear the fuel pump making a noise. It eventually started and has been fine since. Found my 'lucky' coin underneath the rear seat too The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLJ65pmQt44&t=6s
