Hey guieeeeezzzzz

A man walks into a pharmacy and wanders up and down the aisles. The sales girl notices him and asks him if she can help. He answers that he is looking for a box of tampons for his wife, and the sales girl directs him down the correct aisle.

A few minutes later, he places a huge bag of cotton balls and a ball of string on the counter.

Confused, the sales girl says, "Sir, I thought you were looking for tampons for your wife."

He answers, "You see, it's like this. Yesterday I sent my wife to the store to get me a carton of cigarettes, and she came back with a tin of tobacco and some rolling papers because it's sooooooo much cheaper. I figure if I have to roll my own, so does she!"

It's like if u have to ask you can't afford it haha

got my apexi power fc yesterday. quick question am i going to need a boost controller now? atm i have the boost restrictor removed and thats it.

damn im not original ive only been around since 07'

Power FC should have a Boost Controller built into it but I think you are better off with an aftermarket one...

Like an APex'i AVC-R / HKS EBC / GReddy Profec B or whatever suites your setup...

Nah they dont have one built in but can buy an add on one for it. i think ill go with a profec B i used to have one but never used, then sold it.

it's not built in you have to buy it seperate...

I had a feeling there was a Boost Controller built in but was very limited to what it could do...

Looks like it not the case...

So yeah, aftermarket 1 it is :)

im using the powerfc boost kit and it works well

when you use it you get boost print out on the hand controller and the powerfc will correct based on boost as well

set and forget and away you go

set target boost, set duty to reach that level and your done

it doesnt do dual solenoid or any fandangle stuff

so if your on std turbos etc its fine

if you want 3.6kgcm2 of boost with instant scramble then get a dual solenoid unit

    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
    • Yeah - I mean, go the other way. Smaller range. Not larger.
