When you consider how vital the turbo is to making the power in your engine why muck around and try go for shortcuts cause you will eventaly spit the dummy and change beacuse its shit, if you look for cheaper alternatives then use turbos such as hypergear since there are people on the forums using them and have had good results for the money spent

hahaha, you post whore...

ON topic: better off seeing what other people are running, have a look in the turbo result section

He has asked the question here to which I replied, some China/cheap stuff is fine, its just a matter of finding a good one, speak to some workshops, they should be able to recommened a cheaper turbs, but if money is no object go a new garret as the technology of the cheap stuff is 10 yrs old and the new stuff is much more efficient.

my vote is for a hypergear hiflow, great price and you get to keep the same turbo appearance so no cop troubles!

hi, im curious as to how much it would cost to get one of these done, and what sort of gains/loss will i get?

something along the lines of bigger power figures in the top end, but slightly more turbo lag?

thanks.

more mid range and top end power, less low down power and a couple hundred rpm more before it gets on boost

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
