I went from a garrett gt42r with a 1.01 rear to a 6466 with split pulse T4 1.00 rear thanks to PJ.

at 24-25psi i went from 426kws to 415kws but gained 100kw in the mid range. difference between the two is night and day.

this is on a supra 3L stock motor and pump fuel only.

it coota it ran 125mph on a runway surface with the 6466 and at wsid with the 42 the best i managed was 121mph

I just watched a Supra getting tuned, it easily maxed the 700kw dyno. lol. Seems the 6boost manifold overboost issues are still common across the range. :/

Precision turbo but I didn't find out what size. I only know it was massive and had a 5 inch inlet.

I also helped get the VL RB30 started, and got the 6766 spinning. Is it common to hear bearing noise with the ceramic bearing cartridges? There is oil supply but the bearings sound flat spotted. Perhaps they need to get hot before the clearances close up?

Scotty. Was the oil restrictor removed? If it was you have almost certainly put the restrictor back in the wrong recess of the chra. There are 4 recesses and only one lines up with the restrictor. If you have it in the wrong one it pushes the chra out of round and you get this bearing flat spot noise and noisy bearing.

My 6466 sounds like this. After 500km its free'd up slightly but you can hear the 'tink tink tink' noise as the turbo spins down just before it stops completely. Still boosts fine and is plenty responsive. Might email Precision.

A mate's 6262 is quite noisy also but I thought it was just the thing with roller bearing turbos. It was actually really hard to spin when it first went on the car but seems to have free'd up nicely now. My brother's GT30 is noisy as hell, even after it was reco'd

I've had a buggered precision 6262 roller apart before and it only had one hole in the centre cartridge for the oil restrictor to locate into, the drain hole on the opposite side was more than half the diameter. Wonder if there's a few different assemblies they use

Dave thats going to be one result ill be anticipating, 6262 TS on a Neo doesnt seem to be existant out there. Is its just the turbo and lines your changing

ditching the DE runners for DET, 4 inch dump and highmount 6 boost, new ECU and getting my VCT back

current setup is lowmount Hypergear with DE runners and faulty ground on VCT which will be fixed when it gets the ECU

6 Boost? I hope the wastegate exit off the manifold is welded on the correct angle, Kyle won't entertain the thought his manifolds are badly designed, so won't fix the simple design flaw. You should be right though, as the boost spiking is the tuner's fault apparently.

Nice, lucky i didnt buy the runner off you. I just have to get a highmount mani then chase for gold.

I have two of them so you can still have the spare if u want it!

you just had to make me go dig it out of its box and unwrap it just to check didnt you!

would of preferred a more even flow but a 90degree shouldnt be so bad.. if it spikes ill just run what it puts out! 35psi for all!

Got the car tuned the other day at Unigroup and the Precision 6766 is a weapon of a turbo. We opted for the 1.0 T4 split pulse rear end. We used to have a good old T78 on the engine, its an RB26, and at the same boost the 6766 is about 55rwkw up. All we changed was the turbo and dump pipe

We ended up with a consistant 485rwkw at 25psi on E-Flex which is currently showing around E60. Going to get some United E85 and see if we can crack 500rwkw with a bit more timing. I dont want to run any more boost so what it makes at 25psi is what its going to make ;)

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
