Guys, I'm kind of new to this Photography section... Here are some shots I took of my GTR the last two nights. Let me know what you think? :)

Sidd and Matt, where are these locations, please? I've been looking for a few good places to take some shots of my car and others around the Parramatta, Blacktown and Hills areas...

Hey Nick,

The first one was taken in my driveway  Over 110sec exposure, several handheld flash points around the car.

The others were taken outside a new building in North Sydney called 'the Ark' on the corner of William and Mount st, just off the Pacific Hwy.

Hey Nick,

There's a few good spots near Nepean River. You've got the boat ramp on your side, and you just need to drive along river rd on the other side and pick a spot.

You could head to Eastern Creek Raceway (obviously whilst the gates are open) around the back hill there's plenty of open space with nice grass and good curves.

You could head to the wreckers on northern road to get the grafitti wall

Have you tried to scope out Norwest? Possibly around that large lake thing? That's somewhere around here I've thought of heading out to as well.

Or if your stuck... Head to Homebush. Everyone has done it before, but that's because it's always good for a shoot. If I wash the car next week I might head down one evening myself! Great idea! haha

This is from the chain of storms that has killed a ton of people already and caused a ton of damage and injury. Took them when it passed through my area. Pretty scary shit, producing tornadoes. In the USA.

The thing you see dropping down right before the lightning on the left is a cloud that was in rotation. It was gusting probably 20-35 by this time and the camera had gotten a strange amount of noise. Needless to say, this was the LAST picture of the night before I MOVED.

Enjoy =)

Is that Tampa?

Ahh cool, "the Ark" looks cool! Made for a good backdrop.

Yeah, I'm not too familiar with the Penrith area because I don't venture out there much, but that will change soon because my sister is in the process of moving there.

I might go and scope out Norwest this afternoon, actually. The new hospital is up and running, I think, and from Old Windsor Road it looks like it's a fairly modern-looking building.

Oh, I went for a drive to Rouse Hill a few months ago because while I was leaving the shops there I thought I saw a little area that looked like it might be a park with a small parking lot. I thought I'd check it out to see if it'd be suitable for any photos, but it turns out it's just a turning/parking bay and nothing more... :) Might be an idea to the shops themselves one night really late to see if we can use the area for photos when no-one's around.

First one is my favourite. Focus seems a little off.. I'd suggest taking a small LED torch to help camera focus when shooting at night time

P.s. Those wheels rock!

    • Then, shorten them by 1cm, drop the car back down and have a visual look (or even better, use a spirit level across the wheel to see if you have less camber than before. You still want something like 1.5 for road use. Alternatively, if you have adjustable rear ride height (I assume you do if you have extreme camber wear), raise the suspension back to standard height until you can get it all aligned properly. Finally, keep in mind that wear on the inside of the tyre can be for incorrect toe, not just camber
    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
    • I got adjustable after market rear camber arm to replace the stock one's because got sick of having to buy new rear tyres every few months. Can anyone please let me know what the best adjustment length would be. I don't have the old ones anymore to get measurements. I'm guessing the stock measurement minus a few mm would do it. Please any help on replacing them would be fantastic I've watched the YouTube clips but no-one talks about how long to set the camber arm to.
    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
