thats femno and its one CRAZY GTR

thanks mate, its good to put cars to names, and agreed that is one crazy gtr. also the purple r33 gtr was very quick along with a silver r33 that didnt sound like a normal rb25 that thing was great and so was the gold r33. i'd be here forever if i was naming all the good cars so i better stop lol.

This one looks like I'm running away from being chopped up by that massive wing.

It was a great day, although a little chilly!

I'm just so wrapped that the new and not-so-improved corona managed to put up with two days of MY abuse, without even hinting of a problem..

All with a motor that cost me $56 off EBay

(Those that know me and my luck with cars will know how amazing this is)

:blink::down::(

Thanks to all the volunteers that helped out on the day, we can't do these without you!

and thanks to all of you for coming along and having some fun in your cars!

Cheers

MaT

did anyone see this on the way up on sat morning? We spotted this swirling like pattern up in the clouds..looked real damn odd..pretty awesome..ended up being a rocket launch

http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/T...ory_536039.html

Odd, didn't see that on the way up but my friends saw like a shooting star / comet sort of thing in the middle of the day - it was heading down to earth though, rather than up or across. How much does it sound like the guy in that article is trying to cover up a UFO lol.

Thanks to all volunteers - great DECA, never disappointed by it. Bloody WDs

i saw that shooting star too, it was towards the end of the day, must of been a big meteorite to see it in daylight, it went straight over the middle of the skidpan.

Awesome pics rh1no, how can buy prints?

Ooh was it me Scott? Or the silver GTR? Or the black bonnet silver GTS-T?

might of been you, it was a silver r33 series 2, didnt have a black bonnet and wasnt a gtr, but sounded very loud and different note than any other r33 rb25.

edit: could have been the one with the black bonnet i cant 100% remember now, but all i know is it didnt sound like any of the other rb25's

Thanks to all involved in making this day so happen.Had a great day giving the stagea a bit of a work out even having a bit of a loss in the long wang 80%, first time really trying to push the car oh well its all in fun.

Skid pan is even better fun trying to get the auto stagea to slide and think i got it to do it a couple of times and to the caldina 1 all in the battles good to see we were that close each time.

This was my first time having a go at a motorsport event but wont be my last,it was good to see how the car handles and wont push it too hard on normal roads now after the tune that extra power made a difference

If any one got any video footage of me i would like to see it thanks..

see every one at the next deca cant wait

Thanks to all for another great DECA  Im finally defrosted! That wind was bloody icy!

I had fun volunteering, and lost my voice at the end of the day when I gave starting a go in the battles lol only lasted 5 battles!

Cant wait to see vid of Lukes (Nutr33) last run, we're now up for new tyres - d'oh, but theyve had a good life(lasted a few deca's) and I think he had fun - and with me shouting "OK Thats enough now, I wana go back now, AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Just egged him on more lol. (Though he claims he didnt hear me )

Look forward to the next one!

for some reason this deca was more fun then the last 2??? maybe it was just me being slide happy in the chaser but had way more fun this round then the others.

i need new brakes now. also didnt get to say hi Anna. kept thinking ill go say hi to a fellow magna buddy but kept missing ya lol

I got a bunch of video's from the battles, Should have caught most cars.

Vids won't be up till end of week tho as I'm still in shepp with SFA internet access.

Would have got them for all the day however due to lack of volunteers I was stuck out on the back track for the morning...

thinking going to ahve to have my car working for a deca one of these days and enter again..been 12 months or so..

That's for your effort Martin.

Always lending a hand.

What are you still doing up in Shep?

Maybe thinking of Dean's white R33 S2? Black Face 19's?

Its very loud and sounds nothing like any regular 25 ive ever heard. Its because of the nice turbo setup it has. I love it.

id say thats the one mate, it does sound really good.

edit: does anyone know what that lancer was running or was it stock?

Hmmm...does this look like it? I have a Varex muffler that runs 98db on full volume and sounds pretty unique, along with the Apexi power intake giving it super loud induction...or as femno said maybe it was the white one? He sounded pretty loud.

Lancer is turbocharged...forget the engine size but it's not very big.

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
    • Ok, disregard my “rate them” comment, sorry for my unrealistic input
