I really did like them but the biggest they come is 9.5inch +12 offset so i wanted something that would fill out the guards a little better and the 10.5's with a +12 was exactly what the car needed. I would gladly get the CR Kais again if they came in a 10.5 +12

Little bit of progress on the weekend

Bought a decent spray gun for starters and my housemate who has now registered his business wanted to kick things off with a bang.

So we got stuck into the half cage we started a few months back.

It is now all welded and painted ready to go in the car.

Also got the waste gate back from Craved Coatings and looks mint as hell. will have to scale pics down as they are all over 2MB :) lol

ahh you did get it - your manifold arrived on monday - bit of delay in the old mail system up to you

that reminds me - if you want i can post up some pics of the covers before i sent them up to you

Yea go for it dude, that would be good Chris

Each to their own hey, i am originally not a huge fan of highly polished or chrome wheels on anything Japanese but these look just right, fill out the guards they way i want them to be and came with semi's on them. Got a hell of a deal through Import Monster so i couldn't go past them and the pics don't really give em justice to be honest

Cheers Marty

He powder coated mine so it would be a little more hard wearing than paint but it would depend on what colour or style finish you went. Mine was around $230 i think but i would say shoot him a pm or email [email protected] and he will be able to let you know :D

this thing is looking better its back together.

the fuel pump wiring & ecu setup is about to be finished this arvo, should have it running by tonight :P

i will get Luke over sometime this week to get some hi res pics

    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
    • Yeah, I would have said the same. It makes me suggest that there are other things wrong, such that the ECU is totally unhappy with the broken sensor. The only other thought here is that maybe it is shorted, which might cause a different issue to the typical "disconnected" sensor.
