started building my car 4 years ago and have been to hell and back with a few shops but finally ended up at a shop i was happy with.

my 4wd wasnt working so i had a full re wire and whatever they did to sort it out. at that time the car was running a 2.7 jun stroker with t88-38gk making 410awkw @ 21psi or there abouts

so being in the workshop i decided to change my plans from street/drag to street/time attack/all rounder, so i made the following changes

- os giken 3L stroker w/ quad plate

- brand new race spec head

- t51r kai bb turbo kit

- hi octane dry sump setup

- ALOT of motec goodness

atm, some basic specs are

- all of the above plus

- ppg 5 speed gearbox

- trust peII 4inch exhaust str8 thru single rear muffler

- 1200hp fuel setup (std fuel tank) 3 pumps, surge tank etc

- motec m800

- motec dash logger

- motec shift light module

- motec knock control

- motec CDI ignition

- defi everything guages

- hypertune plenum, throttle body, n other fabrication

- 150mm greddy intercooler single entry

- tein coil overs with adjustable everything arms/rods/ bla bla bla

- r33 gtr brembo brakes

- nismo gt 2 way rear diff

- tomei front diff

- 19x10 racing harts

- 2x bride cuga seats

- full suede w/bride trim

- dspeed clear corners

- f*k load of other stuff i cant remember

NOW TO THE FUN (not) AND ONCE AGAIN, TIME CONSUMING PART!! which will prob take me a good 6 months depending on work and funds.

i found a r32 gtr rolling shell which ill build up brand new then swap my running gear into it and sell off the old car as a roller.

it will be fully spot welded and stripped and painted with only a dash and 2 front sits with minimal interior, all new rubbers and moulds throughout

its going my favourite colour!!!!!! WHITE AS WHITE CAN BE!!!

new parts/things that im planning to add to the new car

- veilside wide fender kit

- frp front bar with integrated front lip w/ n1 vents slightly modified to fit widebody (have)

- carbon abflug front diffuser slightly modified to fit widebody (have)

- carbon top secret rear diffuser (have)

- forgeline zx3r 18x11 +15 front and -10 rear (21lbs each = 9.5kg!!) (ordered)

- volk te37 superlap 19x10.5 for street (ordered)

- cams/ andra spec 4 point with side intrusion bolt in for now, maybe weld in if i go crazy, wanna keep it street still!

- ap racing custom brake kit 6 piston cp5555 w/ 380x36 front rotor and ap racing GTR rear kit

- dry carbon boot and bonnet (already have)

- dry carbon doors (for the track, std ones for the street)

- dry carbon rear wing

- carbon dash and door trims

- carbon interior parts (custom a&b pillar, rear upper and lower trims near the seat to make it look tidy and a false carbon rear seat similar to the origin ones offered for s13/180sx for the street so it doesnt look so bare) (ALMOST COMPLETE!!)

- ikeya everything suspension arms n etc (ordered)

- new coilovers - still undecided on which ones............

- polycarbonate windows, std front screen (ordered)

- supermade headlight covers with n1 headlights and hid kit

t51r kai is fine, boost comes on early and just rips. many jap time attack cars run t88's so im sure this will do just fine :) its not a dedicated car so to speak so i could prob get better times but then i lose too end which i want for wen i take it to drags n the like, its an all rounder :P im not using that shell anymore, i sold it, i found myself a cheap complete roller which will be a better base ill keep things updated as i go along and get things happening! tryin to get some sponsors on board for a few things

sure is, gotta get stripping and rub the car back so we can fit the kitup hopefully next week and cut the rear fenders,

cage is probably about 3-4 weeks away before it can go in 2 get done, 6 point fixed, cams n andra teched and modplated in qld!!! love it

novake,

other than f**king awesome there isnt much i can say brother lol awesome build dude. i look forward to seeing it grow haha

just a question though, y did u choose to get the kai instead of the spl turbo and also i see u went the carbon dash ah, nice man. im still looking for one for mine. there hard to find though lol.

hey julz, kai bb = less lag, and better suited for wat i wanna do, it will make close to 500awkw on moderate boost on pump and even more on e85 :( and boost comes on str8 away and huge torque with this combo! its crazy! i didnt get to work on it last week too busy, but will start on wednesday

  • 3 weeks later...

hows it coming novak.

ive changed from a gt42 to a to4z in my engine.

and the door trims are getting fitted up next week, took me ages to find someone i can trust to stip my oem doors and fit all the switches and handles to the sunline door cards...

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
