Just to actually help you out the size of the rim will have little affect on clearance issues it is more due to offset and width of the rims. although you won't be able to use stretched tires to your advantage as much on rims that size also it will look like aids

what i dont understand is why anyone would want to change rims at all!!!

Just stick with the originals mate they are the bestest strongest and lightest rims you can get, not to mention the best looking...

All these gooses spending 1000s on rims for what, to look shit and get defected, dont they know how much naws you can buy for 2grand..hide it under your front seat and the cops will never know, plus when your running that much naws you will go through tyres very quickly so best stick with 17s they are much cheaper..Otherwise you will end up like those dopey commodore kids with huge bling on the front and steelies on the back dragging your ass around like a dog with worms because you cant afford another set of 20inch tyres till your next tax refund which is like 10 months away..

Another thing to note with big wheels is POTHOLES..these can destroy a bling rim in .0013 seconds then you will be stuck running your space saver which looks bad at the best of times but even worse when its matched with 20 inch chromies, plus your diff and/or your steering will be rather confused with the difference in wheel profiles..

Also your turning circle becomes a nightmare with your guards rubbing making all sorts of noise...so if the chicks did think your car looked cool they will think it sounds like its falling apart which is kind of self-defeating the whole purpose of sexy rims which is to attract the pussy..

NB ..(Although this can be masked by 2 or more fully sik subwoofers, this only works when girls are inside your vehicle which is highly unlikey if they have heard it or you havent slipped em a few rowies beforehand, if you have slipped em rowies they wont care or remember what wheels are on your car anyway so maybe invest in rohipnol instead of wheels, not only is it much cheaper ,it would also swing the chance of you actually getting laid in your favour considerably..)

All in all big wheels will achieve nothing other than feeding some chinaman and his family for a day..so why not cut out the middle man and send your hard earned $$$ straight too world vision and do the world a favour

Maybe save some for some good quality tyres, not only will this actually improve your vehicles fuel consumption, performance and handling it will also improve your credibility and may also save the lives of the drugged out girls in the back seat oneday :)

Go for some nice 18's mate. I put 19' on my S14a when i first got it. I nearly went 20's :P It didnt take long for me to realise that they make a fast car that is supposed to handle well, handle like crap. They are heavy and look crap.

Went to a nice set of 18's and the car just looks and handles sooo much better.

I think the problem isnt so much whether or not 20's will fit in the guard. Cos it will.

The problem is that you just cant get the right offset and physically place the wheel in the guard without massive work.

I suppose the wheels are cheap though..

btw. You dug your own grave on this one

Ive had 20's on my R34 coupe for 4 years with no issues, except i did have to shave off a small bit of metal on the upper control arms of the front suspension to stop the tyres from scrubbing. Car drives well and still handles great.

    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
