As soon as my 8374 arrives and I have got Sinco to make the manifold (They have tacked it together to check first that it fits with this turbo) I will have the car on the NZEFI dyno (4x4 hub dyno) and we will see what it's like on a built RB30/26, I will post results/dyno sheet when done

Is the style of the manifold much like the what the Full-Race design? What material?

It is similar, Have a look on their website

They make them in steam pipe, I've had dramas in the past with my HKS/Top Secret Stainless Manifolds cracking and warping, Where as these guys warranty them for 5 years against cracking and warping.

I will be getting it HPC coated

I wouldn't buy another Jap manifold.....If I was going stainless it would only be a Full-Race or a 6Boost

6Boob's are steam pipe brudda cuz.

As nice as FullRace items are, 6boob leads the way in collectors. Total sex.

Trains are seldom late, buses fill the gaps, ferries make for something to do on the weekend, so on and so forth. I should get my license back in 2019 and so far the last 3+ years without it havent been bad :whistling:

You lost your license for 10 years??? wtf did you do, repeat drink driving without a license?

that sux. i got 4 years for crossing double whites...... dangerous driving my ass..

How can you lose your license for 4 years for a single traffic offense? You must have stacked them up prior to that to get done for 4 years. My house mate lose license for drinking driving, then got caught again unlicensed AND drunk and only lost it for 3 years with no lawyer or anything, just pleaded guilty.

well anyone who reckoned the 9180 might be too big was way off. preliminary testing has been done and if anything we are thinking we might want a BIGGER one!! response is amazing for such a large turbo. thoughts are that on a track car it would be a good thing even on a 2.6L. yes ours is a 3L it's way more responsive than the -10s it replaced. getting the car set-up on the dyno at part throttle the thing is coming onto boost in the 3,000-4,000rpm range! my memory is hazy so don't quote me but off the top of my head at 4,000rpm it made 60kw more than the -10s. final results coming soon.

the 6258 car is having the turbos installed as we speak but just having a few issues getting them fitted. but once done we'll have graphs to show. and yes 450kw+ is the aim. if the car needs more fuel pump i'm sure it will get it. no point leaving the car below it's potential just for the sake of a fuel system.

so, guys. can you make us a bigger EFR or what????? maybe a 100/90? even a 100/80 would probably do it.

Not sure if serious.

agreed. I've personally looked at both and both are excellent but not sure I'd choose a 6boost over a full race manifold. also have now had the pleasure of a good look at the full race RB26 twin turbo manifolds for the EFR twins and the collectors on them are outstanding. even more so when you consider the space restraints they have to work with. Full Race have also experimented a lot with different grades and different wall thickness of steel and I think their manifolds are fairly robust now. I certainly have no problem in using or recommending them. I have also recommended 6 boost in the past too. seriously though, don't comment too much on Full race gear till you've seen it in the flesh. it's hard to capture properly in pics just how nice it is.

Great news Richard. We knew you'd like the performance. We've seen in person that it's not hype, but ultimately want the guys in the trenches to show the rest of the community just how impressive these turbos are...

What fitment issues on the 6258's? Those things just slap right in! ha ha! I hope you mean you're fitting the charge piping and dump tubes. That fitment is definitely not for the faint at heart, but we think your customer will think they were well worth the effort. (if you're having issues with the manifolds fitting I want to know about it) We plan to fit another pair on another car to make some O2 housings so the end user can use any aftermarket downpipe. We'll probably get to that after SEMA. Glad you like the turbo, and be sure the push those little turbos to their max...think you're gonna like them.

And...thanks for the props, we do our best to make a product you'll never have to replace.

they are big cams. exact spec doesn't matter too much. I would suggest something around 280 10.5mm if it's a track car. the thing is lots of the jap cams are a bit too big on duration and too small on lift to enable them to be bolt in cams.

honestly the way it's looking it would be an ok turbo on a 26. with the 8374 on your RB30 you might find you want something bigger, though for a road car it should be fantastic.

Thats what I have in the engine, 280 10.55mm Kelford Cams, I am a little worried that they are going to reduce the responce....But hopefully by what you are saying about the R34 they should be OK.

Now your making me want to sell my 8374. Any chance of seeing a dyno sheet from it? I know the numbers are probably top secret but even if you got rid of the numbers so we could get an idea of the curve.

Sounds awesome so far- not sure if you are joking about needing a bigger turbo though haha. Have you already maxed it out, and thats the motivation for saying that - or is it just because it spools better than you anticipated so figure a bit more lag for a bit more power would be acceptable?

This turbo is advertised as being able to ~95lb/min of air - if thats accurate, this has the potential to be a 1000hp vehicle... call me conservative, but that might be just about enough for a track car ;)

He's assuming that it's going to run out of steam up top the way it's breathing down low, but I've told him I think he's going to be pleasantly surprised. I know the SSE Evo was over 800whp with a smaller turbo, I have confidence he'll get there. thumbsup.gif

Hmm well going by the results I've heard of the 67mm S400SX turbos doing - the compressor wheel is probably capable of pretty serious things, all comes down to how much exhaust gas the 80mm turbine can do. I'm picking that if the cam specs thrown around are at all relevant to this setup, its capable of quite happily cracking 600kw on a hubdyno running E85.

    • As I've said elsewhere, I am using the stock intercooler piping path in the engine bay, and a return flow cooler, and making ~250 rwkW (without any effort put into trying to turn it up past there just yet) and expect to be able to make some more, and frankly, I would be perfectly happy with 260-270rwKW. This is peak road Skyline usability territory. You go past there and, sure, the car will snap necks more when it's on boost, but it will also break shit all the time, cost a (even larger) fortune in tyres, etc etc. Anyway, I also do not like the over-the-fan pipe path, and you don't have to do it.
    • I see, honestly I’m not too fussed about the looks. The only reason to go plenum is to make the piping easier instead of the classic over the rad etc.
    • Not easy to quantify wrt something like how many fractions of a second slower it would be over 0-100. But given that a 250-300rwkW car is able to do that launch sprint in 5-6 sec (and faster with appropriate tyres, and surface)..... giving up as much as a second would feel like torture. A ~450HP capable turbo is not going to make lots of boost in the 2000-3000 rpm range. So, whilst with some boost on hand it will be faster accelerating in that rev range than your engine currently is NA, it will not feel like a fast car until the boost is solidly in. You know what your car feels like right now when you open it up at 2000rpm. if you've ever been in an actual fast car, you will appreciate that the NARB25 is.... not exciting. Well, add some boost and it will be better. But shorten the intake runners and it might not be better at all. It might come out better, but it could end up feeling the same. For me, it's not the 0-X km/h sprints that matter. It is easy to fry the tyres with anything over 200 rwkW. You can't use all the power available in 1st and 2nd anyway, you have to modulate the throttle. What matters is how the car reacts when you're driving in traffic in 4th or 5th and have maybe 2000 rpm on board, and you want/need to add some speed quickly, and don't have time for the downshift. It won't make boost, it will be all NA (at the speeds we're talking about - remember how fast you're going at 2000 in 4th! and don't plan on breaking the limit by too much.) So giving away NA torque is not what I would consider practical for a street car. And retaining that NA torque builds boost faster which makes the car faster. The flashy plenum is not actually better, unless you're looking at a track car where you can keep it on the boil all the time.
    • So how much difference does it make you think? Like 1 second in the 0-100?  I was have smaller turbo so hopefully that spools quick GTX2871.  currently it’s NA so you can imagine pretty slow, but I do want fast accusation a little as there’s not many places I’ll be driving where I go over 80 even near me. So 0-60 and 0-80 targets
