just got off the phone with Shannons Insurance...

Not impressed.

1st - they don't know my car. That's fine, not many people do.

2nd - after telling them every little bit of detail about my past infringments/mods etc he comes back and says "we can't insure you because your car has too many mods. It needs to be in a garage"

3rd - I told him as I'm moving to a new house soon which HAS a lockup garage, can he give me a quote. He goes for another 10 min and then comes back and said "no, we can't give u a quote until you've moved into a house with a garage".

I guess I need to ring up again and lie just to get a f**king quote. idiots...wasting both our time. If they don't/can't want to insure me just f**king say so from the start...

Thank goodness JCI's online portal is so easy to use...

They should; several other forum members are insured with them. I had no issues.

I've heard of this before; I think it really depends who you get on the line when you ring, try again.

Bye stagea people, I no longer own any nissans, Just moved interstate and didnt sell the bucket(accent) in time so will just keep it for a while and not have anything fast(also to much cool shit coming out in the next year to buy new now!), I seem to get the train to work anyway and its better to have something I can park at the station and it uses f**k all fuel.

Farewell.

Agreed.

I have been with Shannon's since day 1... which literally was day 1 for M35 Stagea's!

Jethro - The dude you got will be going by Redbook which only states ARX models last time I checked.

Strange as I have never had any issues with any of the Shannon's people I have spoken to.

Also odd is that there isn't a limit on mods... just some of them will bump up your premium considerably (turbo, boost controller, engine management are biggies).

Maybe you got a new guy on a bad day? Dunno. Try them again.

Maybe...

Funny too - the guys said "since your car has so many mods it needs to be in a garage..." and "we'll need to having driver restrictions since its a very hi powered vehicle...."

I didn't even tell him any power figures! meh...

I might try again when I've moved into my new place I guess.

i had no problems with mods either, put around 8-10k of mods on the car and premium went up around $200 per year i think

yes ALL imports need a garage with shannons, locally delivered cars dont. which is weird, my fiat is probably more rare than the stagea, and i dont have to garage it.......

c'ya Ryan, take care mate

sent PM wishing you well

washed the stag on the weekend :D

I cant believe how shiny it is when you wash it after a month (or so) worth of dirt!!!

(but then I see all the little bits that need detailing too sad.gif )

Oh...I should wash my car.....I haven't given my car a wash in about 2 months....let's just say a mate of mine goes to me....your car is turning cream (it should be pearl white)....that's how long I haven't washed it for...it's been either too cold or raining to get it washed

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
