Use this one guys :D

Overall, pretty dismal turnout for an awesome location. More so annoying I guess because so many people said the ole "i will come", only not to show face.

Especially when the NDSOC group could get a good 40 odd cars there for a member base that is probably half of what we have.

Otherwise for the cars that were there, it was an awesome day overall. I managed to get sunburnt, so the weather certainly was not terrible :)

Having the NDSOC (and other groups) made it really interesting with lots of carby equipped machinery in pristine condition to checkout.

Good to see a few people both new and old, given the amount of effort that went into organising this, it was overall a great result.

Big thanks to Ash and co. for organising the event. It was a great day, pitty about the turnout though  I guess the crappy weather the day before didn't help.

What were the results anyone?

I'm glad to hear I wasn't the only one who got SUNBURNT. Imagine that on a day that was forecasted for rain!

As for the rainsayers, yesterday was further evidence that weather rarely lets down an SAU Vic event. I thought it was pretty perfect, overcast with not a drop of rain = shiny cars. Just a shame about the back of my neck, argh it stings! So yeah, pretty disappointing turnout given how many were keen to come at first. And I know the drive in, drive out times seem like an inconvenience...I used to think so too, but the day goes by really quickly and there's plenty of stuff to do at the docklands if you get bored of looking at cars. NDSOC certainly showed us up in the numbers department. They had some very pristine examples which were fun to look at. Still, SAU Vic represent...we still managed to cover some decent lawn and our cars looked pretty good.

lol @ NDSOC's choice of beverage. And lol @ the random who thought it was one of those motorshows where you can sit inside the nur-spec without asking the owner

Scientist: [resigned] Well, Homer, I guess you're the winner by default.

Homer: Default? Woo hoo! The two sweetest words in the English language: de-fault! De-fault! De-fault!

[assistant clubs him]

Scientist: Where'd you get that, anyway?

Assistant: Sent away.

Thanks for organising it Ash!

Good to see you all again!

Ash you can move my pics for the old thread into here if you want

Nice panoramic pic Montie :P

i too got burnt

Roasted :banana: Had some great chats with plenty of people I haven't met including a few from the nissan datsun club .

Oh and thanks Rob (silver 4-door) for demonstrating R33 gt-r rims on a 32, now i've got the ok to buy buy buy ... she wants a set too now :P

It was a great day overall cheers for everyone who put effort into organising this.

Despite the low attandance the cars that turned up were nice, especially the R34 GTR just mint! Just LOL big time at that dude that jumped into the passenger seat (wonder why not driver's seat instead). Funny he even closed the door... he might be thinking of taking a nap inside or something .

And yea I got sunburnt too despite the overcast all day.

Thanks To Ash & all The Organizers for organising a great day...DIDNT GET BURNT  .... pays off to be black...lol..weather was perfect for the day and had a good time there...nice pics guys....

Hey all,

Had a nice and enjoyable day in relaxing way, huge thanks to Ash and organisers for securing the awesome location. NDSOC stand have some quite nice Datsuns especially Bronze 260Z.

Met some people and had good chat with some of you.

Pity not enough cars from our end, people do need to drink a cup of concrete and bring them to meets whether it's rain or shine and in right or wrong location/time/etc!

Don't like my chances of winning best R33 GTR as there's 4 others... But I have this awesome gearknob, that could help me win, probably.

Cheers

Grant

p.s. when will we know the results from voting?

Roasted :D:( Had some great chats with plenty of people I haven't met including a few from the nissan datsun club :) .

Oh and thanks Rob (silver 4-door) for demonstrating R33 gt-r rims on a 32, now i've got the ok to buy buy buy :D ... she wants a set too now :D

Dave,

Buy mine!

Buy mine!

Buy mine!

Buy mine!

Also buy my sedan while you're at it...

I didn't get sunburnt and I'm white as.

Thanks heaps Ash for putting this on.

At least it ended up being a rain free event.

to bad we all filled out our voting papers there would have been some competition in the intruder class lol hey chinny!

Well done to the boys with the cameras. niccce.

The day was pretty good all things considered. NDSOC had heaps more cars there last year, even they were a little underwhelmed by the turnout.

CSA were there as well, we were promised 15-20 cars, and we got 7.

Anyone thinking of coming to this next year, but worried about what to do for 6 hours, apart from all being hopeless, there is heaps to do at Docklands, Cosco, plenty of shops, restaurants, so much to do. Get on it next year, it's a fantastic venue and location.

    • My idle is set at 950rpm though - Moving the timing around 20 degrees is not really what I'd call a calm idle. That said... neither is chop, by definition. The LS ECU likes to adjust timing to hold idle as opposed to air. It'd work, but generally speaking there'd be a discrepancy in the base idle and the IACV would want to move the timing around anyway to maintain said idle. I think I'm just going to keep the timing steady anyway. Preserve my engine mounts.  My aircon is now officially regassed. As the guy was reversing I noticed my reverse lights do not operate, along with my reverse cam. This is a bit distressing, because 100% of guides talk about which wire to connect to backup cams as "the goes with the [other color] wire". Often when doing conversions. Unfortunately the R34 colour wires aren't documented Unfortunately I had a T56 Magnum gearbox with it's reverse switch, which also isn't documented. Unfortunately there's definitely not documentation for people with both of these in the one car. Unfortunately I forgot. After many hours of this, I have a reverse cam and reverse lights again. The wire going through the trans tunnel to the reverse switch had broken. Upon inspection, it looks like this one wire had about 7 spade terminals and extensions in it.. for reasons I cannot possibly comprehend. I also spent the 750 hours required to clean up the wiring behind my head unit which now looks like this: This is a monumental improvement relative to what used to be there WRT triple gauges, head unit, traction control, wideband controller, and whatever the f**k OEM stuff still exists there in various states of connectivity/needed. Next step is to check in at the Exhaust shop to see/confirm how much clearance I have, to decide what mid mufflers or 'resonators' (which are just straight through, narrower mufflers) I can add and hopefully cut out a lot of exhaust leaks, pinhole, v-band or otherwise. But first step will be to 'take a look' before the next step.
    • Fark the AFM card and Nistune, Haltech Nexus S3, DBW, cruise control, flex fuel, dis dat.
    • It's most likely the bolt/bush where the cover bolts back wore and allowed cover to move forward.
    • Still haven't put the injectors and R35 AFM in so we can tune the bloody thing for the HG highflow it got mid last year! I think I can forecast the upgrade path to a bigger twin scroll, external gate, Haltech, flex setup, Samsonas, dis dat, etc will be .... a while away!
    • Should have taken that opportunity to slot in a twin scroll turbo setup. Maybe next time.
