I thought it was a half decent race...When's the last time the top 3 finished within a second of each other and raced for P1 for 20 odd laps...

The red flag ruined what would have been an awesome fight all the way to the checkered flag.

Happy to see my boy Alonso moving up, but feels a bit like a great chance at a win taken away by the red flag and tyre change

And great work Hamilton.........

Haters rejoice!

"I'll just try and keep my mouth shut and try to enjoy the rest of the season."- L.Hamilton

well he said that at the start of the season too... I doubt he'll be able to help himself this time either.

vettel spraying the royal guard in the face with champagne was a nice highlight

I still think that crash with Massa could of been avoided by him. Every lap before he was going wider. Then the 1 time when Hamilton is taking advantage of it he pulls right in tight. Im sure he could of seen him in his mirrors, I mean Hamilton didn't pull into Schumacher when he did it there?

From that vid he seems like he was going to follow the same line as he had always been running with leaving a bit of room / following the red bull but then turns his wheel sharper trying to stop Hamilton which made them touch?

Also hers the vid of him saying the black comments and talking about the other drivers lol

Ah, poor Hamo... If he acknowldeges it is hard to overtake and you have to give it a go when you get half a chance then I would be with him. But saying it was the other guys fault when he was trying to be opportunistic...well. Be interesting to see how he goes. He likes to think of himself as a Monaco master but he has only won once here and I think that irks him

God Massa is a hack. Why would you take a wide line in the tunnel with all the shit off line, when he could have stayed on the racing line and forced Hamilton wide which probably would have ended with him in the wall rather than Massa.

not even close to the same situation. found these pics on another forum.

How its done - Schumacher's pass on Hamilton. Fully alongside (or at least well and truly established his position inside Hamilton)before either car started to turn in:

and how its not done - Hamilton's lunge at Massa. Coming from too far back, diving in way too late when both cars are already turning in, and no track there for you to drive into - the car in front is already aiming for the apex:

because his wing broke when Hambone smacked him into Webber in the hairpin... :domokun:

Cmon guys this is F1 we are talking about, it would be a More Piquet V Salazar moment I'm afraid, Haha.

Tip my hat To the Jense, given him shit in the past but he races like a gentleman.

Hamilton is a dickhead, no doubt.

Webber, Cmon mate, pull your socks up or we'll tell Alan Jones you stole his weetbix.

Good move for 4th though.

Vettel is a arrogant prick, f**king hell I don't know how him and Dingleton are even competitive with dragging around the massive weight disadvantage of their ego's.

And LOL at the "close finish" Monaco is already a backed up racing circuit, keeps cars artificially close.

Also, have a safety car rolling start 5 or so Laps from the end generally helps with that ... Lol

If redbull still have the blown diffuser at silverstone they'd be lapping the rest of the grid! Hopefully getting rid of the thing loosen's the rbr backend so vettel has to drive it a bit more rather than being able to rely on so much downforce.

He has a lot of luck though that boy, maybe he stole it from webber?

They are only talking of the hot blown diffuser under braking. they will still be able to use the cold one so they should still maintain some amount of advantage.

Also did you hear Brundell's comment on cancelling the Monaco race in the future as it's no longer suited to modern F1 cars. Would be a shame. Maybe just some mods to the track.

Or maybe just harden the f**k up.

It's not netball, the racing is actually supposed to be the pinnacle of contests ( and challenges)

Basically, nothing good as come though regulation changes for about 20 years Except the reversal back to non grooved slick tyres.

Every time the FIA have a chance to really fix the sport they f**k it up.

God I'm such a whinger.

That move Homo pulled on Massa was the sort of thing a 10 year old does on a playstation

well hamilton is of the 'playstation generation' where do you reckon he learned to drive? has problably never had to even shift gears by himself. lots of skill as a driver that he just doesn't have by virtue of the fact that he's relatively new to the sport. guys like michael schumacher have infinitely more skills than the new young guys like vettel and hamilton.

BTW how good was it to see schumacher actually driving well for once? the footage of him in Q3 I think it was was spine tingling. the car was mega loose and through the fast chicane it was like he had to line it up 50 meters before the apex and then just hold on and see where it ended up. masively sideways on the way in and again at the change of direction. yet still inch perfect to each apex and each barrier on exit. he is finally clawing back some of his old self. and his move on hamilton was almost schumacher-esque. or maybe hamilton-esque? lol...

hamilton tried the same move on massa but without any of the skill schumy has he ended up nerfing massa into webber then griding down his sidepod all the way round the hairpin till massa as a result ended up wide in the tunnel which due to the dirty track sent him further wide and into the wall. but of coruse hamilton had a whinge about that too...

    • I hadn't thought about the variable power steering assist. Presumably, it will always be the same level of assist as you get in an S14. The R32/3/4 are either helliishly heavy (at low speeds) if the solenoid is not powered at all, or hellishly too light (at high speed) if it is powered all the time. I presume that it is PWM controlled on those cars. I hadn't thought about the S cars not having variable assist. ugh. What crappy plebby cars they must be!
    • Hmm yeah that is a good point. It looks like it'll just bolt in with no real issue besides maybe the bushings being different. My other concern was that 2 pin plug that I assume is used in some way to control the rack solenoid depending on the speed signal from the ecu. The DMAX rack doesn't even have that plug though so, don't think it'll matter. Might just order the rack and see how it goes. Will update this when I figure something out
    • I'd say it's a fair bet that the feed and return fluid lines will be in different enough spots that you would need to come up with a way to cut the originals short and adapt with new hard line adaption or braided teflon hoses or somesuch. But really, you have the car, you have the photos of the DMAX rack - you should be able to go out there and see for yourself whether they're in the same or different spots.
    • I've been doing some looking around and honestly was just considering throwing a new rack at it. I saw that the dmax silvia rack bolts up into the 33 with the silvia bushings but not sure if the high pressure lines will sit in the correct spot. I believe other version of the 33 rack are the same/similar to the racks that can be opened up without as much fuss so I assume the dmax rack would fit but any ideas?
    • I've never played with one, but I would expect that you are correct. That slot looks like it is intended to be used to unscrew the end, and the flats on the body would be better than grabbing it around the round bit with a pipe wrench. So, yeah, probably unscrews. You'll probably have to make a tool to drive in that slot.
