Hi all,

As some of you may know, my R33 GTR met the unfortunate end at DECA yesterday, I essentially drove into armco...

I'm wiritng this thread to express my thanks to whoever helped me yesterday.

Paul (paulr33), you're bloody legend! He went greater length to look after me and my brother who rode with me when I 'introduce' the R into armco, he kindly went out of his way to cart us to hospital for check up and dropping us home.

Jack of Citywide Towing, many thanks for coming out on Saturday to tow my R from the crash site to my place, top bloke, willing to go out of his way to help us.

Dave and Hamish, thanks for sticking around at hospital along with Paul when Dermott and I were inside being checked on (and sitting around when they're basically talking to each other).

Thanks to Ryan and Bec, for organising tow truck and checking if we're alright (we walked away from the smash, it wasn't pretty but we're not trapped in the wreck which is a good thing).

Also thanks to whoever came to see if we're ok, also sorry to remaining drivers who didn't get to drive on long wang 2nd run (that is when I crashed), I felt gutted when they had to suspend the run (I believe 10 of them didn't get to do 2nd timing run).

Whoever else that may have help or offer their sympathies etc that I forgot (or can't remember) to mention, I say thanks to you all.

Lastly, I'd like to say thanks to my brother, Dermott who came with me today and unfortunately happened to be my passeneger when I 'demonstrate' my driving skills, and being understanding.

Cheers

Grant

Write off for sure but couple of guys reckon it's fixable...

I won't be fixing it, and I've already recieved a deposit for the wreck.

Yeah I think this GTR is a omen.

:ermm::D:D:O:O:O:O

did this happen towards the beginning of long wang?

dude, so sorry to hear :( glad you guys are alright though, that is definitely something to be thankful for after a motorsport 'incident'

yeah, just make sure everything is ok in the next little bit, you can get delayed reactions to these sort of things

jebus grant glad you both are ok

Thanks.

hey no worries and all part of the service

as long as you guys are OK and no pain etc

how are you feeling this morning? any neck pain etc?

damn those airbags do some damage when they go off

Dermott has bit of cramp on his tummy, his eyes are good now. I felt cramp on my calf but I must have over stretching while I was on my nap last nite. No major pains to report.

Thanks again.

We're all so happy to hear you're both alright. We heard the bang from Mini Wang, stood on the top of the hill and knew it wasn't good.

Thanks, I'm also glad we walked away from the wreck considering how bad it was.

:D:D:O:O:O:O:(

Yep happened after the beginning of long wang clockwise, rear end somewhow stepped out and played 'have you met the armco' game into me!

Thanks, once again, cars are replaceable and lives aren't, that is important thing.

Oh I thought the rb26 may end up in the 32 sedan :ermm:

Great to hear youre both ok.

Haha, 26 won't be in the sedan, I've just sold the wreck (my fastest sale ever) 20 mins ago.

Thanks, I'm also glad both of us are ok.

Take it easy.

Cheers

and i was eyeing off that plenum too.... :D

Why do you want the plenum?

And thanks again for driving me to hospital, pity I don't get to feel what 280rwkw feels like, sorry for taking some of your time from skidpan runs.

So the runs were starting next to the basketball court? Or finishing there?

You're not the first person to meet the scenery down there, such a shame the result is never pretty :ermm:

Clockwise - finish next to basketball court.

Yes, it wasn't pretty but we got out with some bruises - which is a good result considering the outcome.

glad everyone is ok.......good old SAU support =)

Yes, SAU is wonderful club to be part in, helped me twice, gotta give something back...

well it was about the only part of the motor that didn't meet the armco and i have been thinking about chucking one on the 33

sorry to hear/read about that Grant :ermm:

Thanks mate.

So sorry to hear mate :D Glad that you're both doing well after this. I wish you both a speedy recovery.

Thanks and we're recovering well.

Yeah? And doing ITBs while you're at it?

Glad you are both ok and made it home safely.

Was a shock when I was told ( I was on the skidpan so oblivious to anything out the back)

Thanks Anna.

Sorry to hear about your newly acquire car :D But you guys are ok and that's the most important thing!

Wasn't newly acquired (bought it 12 months ago), yes we're fine which is good thing and my parents who are in UK at the monent, got message saying I'm banned from DECA in future... Parents!

    • Ok I get you. But isn’t the butterfly intake a headache with the +T?  see this is my plan so far but please advise me into the right direction.  Nistune Ecu, 1000cc Bosch injectors, TD05 or TD06 Kinugawa turbo using stock rb25det exhuast manifold, walbro fuel pump unsure of model I think it’s 450/460, spitfire coils and sparks to suit and a R35 MAF sensor and boost sensor.    I was thinking maybe do a cheap eBay plenum $400-500 or try find a stock det neo intake. I think I’d port match it so it’s getting the full capacity but open to advice please.  Thanks
    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
