Thanks to the guys down there, they realised the unique opportunity to come onboard what will be a HUGE event.

They are a SAU Sponsor as well so either checkout thier SAU Trader area: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/forum/187-sau-trader-import-monster/

Or thier website:

www.importmonster.com.au

:D

So when do entries close for the track stuff and can I enter my new car rather then my rubbish Nissan?

+1 on that. Just paid for my SAUQLD membership and am working on getting my L1 cams license so I can have a few laps as well. I'd hate to miss out!

Examples of some of the trophies. There will be different ones to this, but just gives you an idea of what to expect... Going ALL OUT!

Also prizes are slowly arriving.

To kick off there is a $500 Shell Fuel voucher

There should be at least another $2,000 of prize coming in so it's shaping up to be a pretty awesome event.

Also trying to organise an After Party & presentation for the Sat night, equipped with some of Melbournes regular DJ's etc

Trophy classes will look something like the below.

If people have and ideas for other trohies/classes etc then post up and if budget allows, we shall see if we can't include a few more

Hard one to judge that :D

The fact there is "classes" makes it easier for a track day. Something to consider.

Also thinking something else like "Bonnet Up Award" for the guy who spends the most time fixing stuff haha.

No Best Intruder FWD? I is not entering then :domokun:

Hrm yer fair point. Perhaps just best intruder it might have to be.

if its th one in your avatar, its a cube with mags. Mr Chef has set the bar with cubes

You can't win something if you aren't entered though remember

I reckon there could be some adjustments to the track trophies - there could be a large potential middle ground missing given what MIGHT come to this event in terms of out-right race cars.

The TimeAttack series in QLD had a pretty easy to follow system that meant people with registered street cars on R Comps weren't competing with Superlap type cars.

Those rules were:

Street Class

The Tyres must be DOT and ADR approved.

All OEM Tyres (This includes the factory RE070 supplied by Subaru for the STI’s)

The tyre tread wear rating must be 140 or above.

The exhaust must be rear exiting with no screamer pipes.

The car must be road registered.

Must have OEM glass.

Must have OEM doors.

Must have OEM full dash.

Must have all seats in the vehicle. (aftermarket seats allowed)

Must have full interior in the car. Not allowed to be stripped out.

Must not have in cabin adjustable brake bias or pedal box.

Must not have in cabin adjustable brake bias or pedal box.

Stock R35 GTR will run in Performance Class.

Performance Class

The Tyres must have a tread wear rating of 70 or above.

This excludes all slicks with two grooves such as Hoosier, Kumho V710 etc.

The exhaust must be rear exiting with screamer pipes allowed.

The car must be road registerable (streetable car that could be registered).

Must have OEM glass.

Must have OEM doors.

Must have both front seats (aftermarket seats allowed)

Must have dash in place. Aftermarket instruments allowed.

Must have basic interior in the front half of the cabin (removal of carpet, stereo etc and liner allowed)

Must not have in cabin adjustable brake bias or pedal box.

Race Class

This is the almost no restrictions class. Outright race.

No NOS.

*Approved Tyre lists to be supplied for Street and Performance Classes.

    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
