I'm looking at using one of these kando's on an SR20 that were building at the moment.

It's a dedicated circuit car that will be used for driver training, and general track duties.

Loong for around the 250-250rwkw mark, nistune, dry sump, Etc.

I don't mind making it fit if need be, internal or external gate, new or 2nd hand doesn't matter

What would those in the know recommend from kando?

How did I know someone would post a reply like that.

A quick question that 3 or 4 guys could do a quick 30sec post and answer with educated information making a simple recommendation for me.

The handfull of people who I was hoping would have a recommendatioarcade always sourcing advice from me which I always am happy to help with.

So I could spend 4 hours reading pages upon pages or I could ask a small question on the current page and get a recommendation.

Td06sl2 20g 8cm is the ticket

its a well rounded package that doesn't struggle to max its compressor efficiency even on 98ron.

the L2 turbine is designed with the intention of high flow (we've seen up to 400kw from it) and making light work of turning a compressor. In the case of an SR it makes using a 420hp (20g) compressor have a good powerband within factory sorts of rev limits. On an RB25 the L2 helps make light work of a 25g wheel.

you can expect it will get urgent around 3, be all in at 4 and make an easy 260 on 98. Go E85 for about 300, as stated its fairly efficient so going the ethanol way doesn't unlock heaps like it can for others.

I hope that helps.

Lol that's blasphemy Darren, an unholy alliance.

I think a highmounted td06sl2 would work better than the td05 on that car, fyi I have done a td05 SR before and while it is good I'm also keen to see how a td06 will better it

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
