The.minute I'm broke its all the cars fault.. So as long as I don't spen ALL the money on the car, I get away with it .:D

LMAO same boat Dave, always the cars fault and wants a holiday ASAP.

Ahhhhh sigh.

A dude is potentially giving me a deposit tonight for sale of my DE+T motor with install into his car this weekend. That will be such an epic relief and I can get back into finishing this farken motor.

You share bank accounts with your Missus? :whistling: your not meant to give them control ;)

For the last 3 years mine has taken up the entire garage, 2 bedrooms and motorbike was forced into the lounge room. She was happy to see it go back together do she could have the house back.

So who will have their car done first? Ron1 or Ron2?

Havent decided on a turbo yet, no. The deal coming up this weekend puts me in a much better position than I expected, so ill be able to make a comfortable choice, with the all star type products back on the map. Such as GTX series items.

I mostly want to give Stao the business though, so I'm hoping my mind tips in his favour once the money is ready to be put where my mouth is lol.

as for who will finish first, I'm confident that will be Ron1 as his is a daily and I'm just a unlicensed hobbyist. I am committed to getting back out to Wakefield though, so I'm not wasting any time either - just the lack of necessity will govern my priorities as always.

anyone wanna make a turbo suggestion? I'll be in a position to impulse buy next week if necessary lol

If I do it will be coming through Stao. I want to support the guys business and his prices are competitive considering the level of service you get.

In a couple of weeks ill balance my numbers and see if I can still afford to keep my 6boost. Highest likelihood is that ill be running the stock manifold with a bolt on type turbo though, it just free's up so much more money for things that are more necessary.

Plus I also think a ballistic 230kw response monster will turn out better than a 260kw average lag monster lol theres just a higher likelihood of a better result with the lower power bracket. Going for more has a higher risk that it might just be too laggy.

Man, this guy's much worse than Ron..lmao! :woot: My current 206rwkw re-tuned by Jez last week just feels sooo good in the low-mid end (2500-4000rpms) I dunno how much lag I will get with the Precision haha.. 110rwkw @3000rpms is all smiles man - its so much more responsive to the slightest throttle inputs now

Ooo you retuned? Why man? Your PT is so close by.... Why retune to suit your stock turbo when you are gonna put a new turbo on soon anyway?

Maybe Ron2 will beat Ron1 to fruition!

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
