Yeah mostly I think it is people not reading the manual and/or taking the time to set them up properly. It's not quite as simple as "I WANT 20psi, K.. GO!"

Also, some think they can't handle huge boost and prefer to go for the Blitz dual solenoid units. The theory there is that the dual solenoids can handle fast ramping, huge boost setups better.

Defiantly are not plug and play.....took about half an hour of run's to set it up in Andy's car yesterday!...mainly because it takes so long to get to 60km/h :P

thats normal though, like bubba said, you cant just input 20psi n say go. 30minutes is actually pretty good.

Did the RDA slotted rotors and EBC pads (red at the front, green at the rear) tonight; and a full bleed of the brakes. Waaaaaaaaaay more bite. Good upgrade, very straight forward :thumbsup: and, no brake squeal! :worship:

I did the same thing 2 months ago on my r32 GTR callipers, those RDA slotted rotors are great, no warp at all when you heat them up. I used the QFM A1rm's and they bite well, better than my EBC reds. Once they are hot though, my god they pull up! Better than any brakes I have felt before.

I wasn't really a fan of the EBC's as when I bought a set they would dust something shocking, and this dust would EAT the wheels! Pads were pretty good. Pretty average when cold though!

Dunc, just make sure you change your fluid to something with a slightly higher boiling point. The increase efficiency of the pads at operating temperature means you are bouncing up closer to the boiling point of standard brake fluids, giving your nice new pads a squishy pedal!

We bled them and put in a mid range PBR fluid; nothing too extravegant but better than what you'd get if you took it to a generic mechanic. I had the 'faded brakes' convo with my mate whilst we were doing the brakes, he felt pretty comfortable that what we were doing would be fine thumbsup.gif.

Even when cold, the new setup felt like it had a heap more stopping power than what I was driving this time yesterday - but given I changed so many components at once I wouldnt be so bold as to attribute it to 1 particular bit; as a whole - the system is working nicely. I'll keep an eye out for that brake dust though pirate.gif

The dreaded cold start ethanol issues? You may just need more fuel at cold start, do you have the Emanage software working yet? See if the temp sensor is hooked up to it mate. Not hard to fiddle with it...

Why is yours clogged? What's the symptoms?

I'm having cranking issues in the morning. Do I need extra volts to the fuel pump? New filter?

nah no problems for me.. just wanna get one so after the 2nd tank of ethanol i can change the filter, it cleans the tank..

well we all were having cranking issues and popping on Idle.

get some air flow meter cleaner, and clean the AFM.

Fixed my problem instantly.

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi 
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
