What?

C'mon Scotty, you're only guessing that is the cause  . Pretty sure Ryan proved otherwise by disconnecting/reconnecting cruise control. Appears to only be an issue with (some) people running F-Con & given all the wiring changes involved with F-Con installation......

No one else with cruise control has reported TPS codes & most have had it working for over 12 months (mine over 18 months). Probably a combined error free distance of over 150,000km.

Unfortunately I have had no errors since unplugging the cruise, I would say too many things hanging off the pedal output wires will cause it to fault.

Maybe the cruise was the straw that broke the camels' back, so to speak :)

I still want to try a new pedal sensor, but at $300-$400 for a varistor I will just unplug the cruise for now. Sadly, I don't think the fcon even uses the pedal sensor as an input now I think about it. It could be a bad connection in the cruise wiring too I guess. I really want to fix it as the cruise function is great...

Limp mode is a pain, I am scared it will happen with the family in the car while trying to scoot across an intersection. It faulted 8 times on one trip just dropping the kids at school last week. Goddamn electronic throttles.

Has anyone had a fault code P1320 ignition signal come up before on there M35?. Am I due for new coil packs? Or is it to do with plugs. Any ideas would be great.

It is indicating a fault with the ignition circuit, probably best if you start a new thread on it so others can find this same info.

It is letting you know there is a slight resistance change somewhere inside a coil primary or ignition harness. Have you been poking around with the coils recently, or changing plugs? If not it sounds like you will be soon. :P

Mine threw this code when I had the Emanage Ultimate wired in.

Thanks Scotty. I haven't opened the bonnet for 4 weeks. My wife rang and said the engine light wont go off. Looks like a fun job to change coil packs. The code has cleared for now. Hope I dont see it back too soon.

On the subject of coil packs...

I changed my cam cover gaskets on Friday because they were both leaking & at the same time took the opportunity to change the spark plugs.

I dont think they'd been changed in quite a few years - both electrodes were worn away pretty badly - so badly infact that the gap was close to 3mm!

Demonstrates how strong the spark is from the coilpacks if it could keep the car running fine regardless.

Although I must say there's now a very noticable difference in engine response now that the new 1.1mm plugs are in. :O

* And christ, what an ars$ehole of a job that passenger cam cover is to get back on without the rear part of the gasket falling back out - that aircon line can f**k right off.

I need to do my plugs to but have been putting it off.

Also it was me who messaged you. Not some random lunatic... well maybe

NGK Iridium LFR7AIX. I get them from ebay mate. Or you could get them from Harold (Performancelub). Still perfect after 20,000 k's on my car.

Don't get the IKH22's, a few sets I have noticed the threads galling in the head, probably due to them being stainless, and the tip melts within 20,000 (on a stock Stagea). Perhaps the IKH24's might be better, with some anti-seize paste? Or just run the NGK's like me. :)

Just telling it how it is mate. Not telling you to change, just letting everyone know my experiences, it's not like there is a price difference. Perhaps you drive like a pussy compared to Jase? :P

lol.

That said, I put the Denso's in because I had them already. Next set of plugs will be neither NGK nor Denso. There are more interesting designs out there that I want to try :)

    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
    • Is this a brand new LSD? if so, have you followed any break/bed in procedure for it? Usually involves heaps of figure 8 patterns, a fluid flush.
