Angus told me it was quite disconcerting running in the STi with one second having no one behind, the next with a Mosler lights ablaze up your arse but so low you can only see the top of the roof! lol

yeah he must have some balls. it would be pretty hard to just focus and keep your eyes forward knowing that every second you don't check the mirrors is likely to be the second a mosler gains a few hundred meters on you in the blink of an eye.

Yeah he said "check the mirrors under brakes on Mountain strait - nothing. Check again into The Cutting - nothing..... Get to Skyline, mirrors chock full of Mosler!"

He also said when they passed him before the kink in Conrod, by the time he was exiting The Chase, they were already exiting Murray's corner! lol!

Yeh then compound that with it being pitch black! A mate of mine did the Nurburgring 24hr many years ago in a Mirage cup car with Donut king, said coming down that really long straight (3km?), check mirrors nothing, check mirrors again faint flicker of light, next thing you know there is a bang of an exhaust, flame and you've just been passed by a BMW M3 GTR and no sooner you can't see their tail lights in the distance!

That would be scary lap after lap in the dark with 200 or so other cars racing!

lol, sounds exactly like the tourist sessions. except that in them only half the people are wearing helmets and some are diving campervans. now imagine hans moleman in his campervan tootling around as hans stavro blofeld comes up in his full house GT2 porsche thinking he is on for a purple first sector. now that's closing speed!! oh, and scatter around a few suicidal guys on motorbikes around too. some are already in the guard rail or the hospital but there's always plenty on the track to dodge mid corner. make the 24hr sound like a walk in the park, at least the guys in that should know how to drive right?

Wow,

You'd think someone would have created some kind of car to car warning system using GPS so that everyone knows how close the car in front/behind is and how quickly the distance is changing. We get that in video games daily :P

Someone has created it, they call it the pit crew + radio.

According to the Germans, a lot can't, hence the new licensing restrictions for this year's event......NB race school and two European endurance events, I believe, required if you haven't participated recently.

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
