i could imagine its been discussed for a long time but before i got my car which wasnt too long ago i was riding around in a toyota echo so im still abit of a newbie! Some mods look nice i think its the placing of the badge with just bugs me

+1 they can do what they want but theyre a tool for doing it.

I also hate 33 GTS / GTSTs with GTR spoilers, duck wing looks way better anyway for them :s

And 34s look out of place with the big ass spoiler on a GT :D

Im thinking of getting a GTR rear spoiler for my boat, reason is the stock GTS-T is really only for looks as it generates bugger all down force but lots of drag, at least the GTR spoiler has some abilty in generating a bit more down force.

I know this because I forgot to close my boot one day at a event, 200kphish down Eastern Creek main straight and when I came in it was still not locked down, I tested how much weight was needed to close it by placing weights on the spoiler and it took 30kg to close it, so it created drag and less than 30kg of downforce.

Using GTR parts in a GTS-T is a smart way to get some easy bolt on mods like brakes, diffs, wheels but badging is a no no, like Holdens with Chev badges, its not a Chev motor its GM, Chevs use GM motors like Buick and Caddies.

Stupid bogans

^ ^ ^ yes that's a great one eh? Can anyone identify who stitched it together? Nissan fan?

'Twas good to see it once more > rofl

The beemer guys who put M3 badges on their 318i cars can breathe a sigh of relief!

I personally think that the GT-R kits look great, and I don't mind if one is sporting a kit on a GTSt/GT/GTS, but the GT-R badge is trying to say that you've got something that you don't have.

The badge is sacred haha, and if often misused and abused.

Saw a yellow R33 GTS with a front mount intercooler that wasn't hooked up and a GTR badge on the left side of the boot, ie; the wrong side! lol and to make it worse it was crooked.

the ultimate in toolness

i have s1 r33 gtst with a GTR spoiler but not the small spoiler inserts. it makes the gtst look a lot better then the standard s1 or s2 wings.

what i have seen most of the time is that people that do get the GTR spoiler also leave the GTR insert in, my opinion is take it out and have a blank insert

i love nothing more than pulling up next to sum1 who has done this when im in my car and saying " oh yeh mate thats a nice skyline, is it a real GTR?"

its the same with any car manufacturer not just skylines, u will get people that put different badges from higher spec models then their own.

In my own opinion its about the gayest thing you can do but then again some people cant afford the real thing and as long as they are happy for everyone to think that they are a tool then its totaly up to them

GTR Badges - No

My car came with a GTR wing and GTR N1 Rear Pods (As far as I can tell?), but I think its just the right amount of GTR parts on a GTST, No badges

And I agree with the comment about the GTR inserts on the spoiler, blank them out. Mine have pretty average NISMO (Old style) stickers on them, One day ill sand them and respray them but for now I cant be bothered lol

I argee to most people here. There's nothing wrong having GTR parts on your car to make it look better. But having a GTR badge on your car DOES NOT make your car look any better and it DOES NOT add another turbo to your car lol.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
