Lololol nope i just read it incorrectly man! Ignore my last comment haha

If you work on the suspension and tyres etc you should get some power to the ground, mine is gripping up hard in 3rd now which is good

Yep they sound real good! Love the whistle!

Awesome choice in ECU :D

That will suck if you have to get rid of it mate! Mine will stay in my possession forever if i get the choice... Too much money invested too let her go!

Yeah, suspension wise I've just got the pineapples and adjustable control arms (with the camber almost at zero), and with 275 Adrenalin's (at $700 each!!!) the grip isn't great... Shitloads of fun though. :P

Did your diff make a noticeable difference to traction?

I have always said that there's no point in selling it, and that I would like to track it one day, but if I move I'll be renting out my house here and renting an inner city apartment interstate, and they generally only come with one carpark - the fiance flatly refuses to drive my car since the mods (she drives a mirage :yucky: ) so unfortunately she has to come first. However, as I'm certainly not going to be driving a mirage around I think I've just about convinced her to let us get a 2005(ish) WRX as a compromise we can both live with... lol.

Pfft, what rubbish, I can drive a car slower than a mirage if I wanted too... I just don't want to

Mat/Lithium, someone please explain the picture on the previous page? What is this? What does this do? Do I want this? Cos I'm about ready to whip out the soldering iron and put some bubbles on my turbine if it's gonna make me go faster.

Joking... But seriously. I wouldn't even know what to google with that :glare:

Mat didn't know anything about it, I was just being a twat looking for dodgy mods. It was from a thread I happened across a few years ago where someone announced that they had done some neat tricks to improve the performance of their turbo and posted the pic of "bits" soldered/welded to the compressor wheels. It's up there with some of the interesting implementations of Somender Singh's combustion chamber grooves I've seen out there, angle grinder + head = win? :D

I have the same diff, and I would say it definitely does... depending on how you drive :P

I never understood how a proper LSD worked until I got one. But I would definitely say, when driven with grip in mind, it pushes you through corners so nicely. If you turn the car quickly with a heavy foot, you will most definitely lose that traction though :P

Yeah i agree, the Diff makes a big difference and is SO nice to drive on daily!

I am sure I can think of ways to improve on that ;)

Ok OK! Ill weld those extra blades on

Lol that's a go kart track. You need the track to be 2nd and 3rd to really let those ponies gallop.

Yep, was too tight for my setup! BUT the biggest thing was running plumb back gate and low boost, it made it quite doughey!

It was all the "drifting" slowing you down :)

Lol, no drifting! Just HOONING! :woot:

Edit - And Tracey Grimshaw, that is a farking track so STFU!!

Reckon you'd be faster with a stock turbo in there. :P

Go and set a time at Wakefield already farkin!

Hey! The time was quicker than every other RWD on the day ya mongrel haha, even the 35GTR!

And yes if i can complete a lap without rolling it i will set a time in May/June!

    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
    • 310mm rotors will be avilable from Australia, Japan, and probably a few other places. Nothing for the front can be put on the back.
    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
    • Just like in being 14mm too small (296mm) makes it not fit, being 14mm too big (324mm) it also won't fit. You want to find the correct rotor.
    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
