Hi guys, I've just purchased a Nissan Stagea.

I've had a Toyota Soarer for about six years so now it's time to learn about a whole new marque!

My Stagea is a 98 RS4S, black, manual so looks like a big old hearse haha. Has some light mods but won't be doing much to it, want to keep it fairly tame and reliable. Will post some pics once I get a chance to take it out for a shoot!

Sounds nice :D

I'm pretty new to the Stagea thing myself, but they're a great car.

cheers

Good to see another here. Was this this one advertised on CarSales?

Yeah it was. It has fairly high ks but drives well. I'll get the 200,000km service done a bit early just to make sure she's all ship shape as it turns out I might be moving to SA so will probably drive it across the Nullarbor - not a place you want a breakdown!

The interior did need a good clean out as ithad been a bit of a family car, got a lot of the kid muck out but unfortunately the seats are a little stained in the back. Might look into either dying some sections eventually. it's nothing too tragic in the mean time.

Also need to investigate a better option for the amp install as it currently takes up the right side rear passenger footwell.

It also has some 19 inch rims on it and while they look really cool the ride is affected quite badly. I might return to the stock 17s it came with.

that stag is very nice. plus wheels suit it nicely. very clean.

Indeed 18th and 19th is the Perth round of Track Battle & ADGP, meet and great cruise to the track :P

hell yeah im down for it. meet and greet at ADGP for sure. anyone SOR wonna cruise up to barbs?

I don't know if anyones interested but I have a 98 series 2 stag for sale. Needs a couple of things but it's pretty good price considering... factory manual, r34 gtr wheels.. its in forsale section here for 5k

here are the latest pics of new paint job almost done :) just needs pearl over the top:

looks awesome dude will be pretty epic in the flesh once its finished... Who was doing the paint ?

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
