Great to meet you guys.

Test day tomorrow, hoping things run smoothly!

Yeah it was great and again much appreciated. We learnt a lot and have a list of things we want to look at ourselves now going forwards.

Good luck today and we look forwards to hearing the results. Remember - double undies! :)

certainly different, it has been a while.

but what was really good going back to them was getting back the feeling of just how progressive they are. the slicks are more violent when they they let go and more difficult to reign in on occasion. the semi's give you plenty of time to react by comparison

4 wheel drifting was on for young and old!

nice one! car looks good and very pleased it passed track test no 1.

kymbo, I wouldn't bother with carbon ceramics. they are more suited to road/track cars. for a full on track car much better to go straight to carbon/carbon. with carbon rotors and carbon pads. very hardcore though and need callipers to suit etc.

with the reduction in weight this car has undergone factory 380mm R35 set-up is probably suitable or maybe a small upgrade but still with traditional cast iron rotors etc.

another test session out at QR today with a few bugs in the drive train and engine ironed out.

will get some in car footage to give you all an appreciation of just how this car feels.

Will not on track though until later in the month when we should have all the final exterior panels and aero on the car and painted.

So you've found a driver?

Just stumbled across that and was about to post myself.

Actually thought you might have somehow managed to get him as a driver when you hinted someone small and that had a bit of time driving at eastern creek.

Should be good to watch, that's for sure!

haha

although I cant say right this moment it may get even more interesting than that.

stay tuned :whistling:

here you go Fatz, some perspective of where the car is at currently

1:20 national circuit at QR

on run in tune, 70% throttle, half the body panels absent, no aero whatsoever on standard nissan pads and used RE55 rubber no wheel alignment with god only knows what toe angles present. felt like we were coasting.

previously full blat on slicks with suspension aero and brakes sorted 1:17's

I hope you have further updates on when the aero is due to arrive mate?

Looks like I've bought the toy I was up there looking at on the weekend so I might try and get to the Nissan day on the 26th with you all before bringing it home.

Snowy, great news.

would be good to see you out at the nissan event. its a fun day despite QR not being the most impressive of circuits.

It sounds like the GT auto garage R35 will also be out there that day

Did you buy Mr Berry's R35 Andrew?

Mark - It will be more than interesting to see how the 2 different appoaches end up at the track. It's amazing that 2 workshops that are vertually back to back to each other have such similar projects happening.

Hope your Carbon guy comes through on time..........

Cheers

yep will be fun battling with Drew out there!

As you can see with that last pic of the car, we are really hoping the carbon parts are sorted on time ourselves. The car was literally floating down the straights the other day, scary stuff.

    • That still isn't a lot to go on. I don't have a Y50 Fuga Head Unit wiring diagram. I can say that a lot of nissans of that age shared head unit plugs, so if you are in Australia something like this would probably help: https://aerpro.com/app091# You plug that into the car loom, then either plug the head unit ISO into that (if it has ISO), or you buy and ISO adapter harness that you wire in. Bit of stuffing around, but once you have ISO its easy to change things in future.
    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
