Just get the G-Zone with the throttle restriction and speed cut removed and the standard tune and tune/adjust over it with the e-manage.....we know it works as this is basically what was done with mine using the Nismo and E-Manage!

Those throttle controllers only change the resistance of the pedal giving you a "simulated" faster acceleration curve as if you had put your foot down quicker on the pedal. The updated emanage software may already have one built in as I found it the other day, when I fitted the Vmanage...

Definitely looks like Gzone is the way to go. (if we have an open line of communication.)

Hopefully we can get from G Zone exactly what they are willing to do so there's no confusion. I just want the performance I'm missing better fuel economy when I'm toodling around taking it easy. I don't think that's too much to ask as we know we aren't getting full throttle and we also know that the japs love to tune cars super rich from the factory.

Throttle restriction modified/minimised as with the Nismo ECU (optional extra)

Speed limiter removed (standard remap)

Boost limit increase (standard remap = 1.1bar, but you can request a higher limit - I asked if they would do 1.5bar - no worries)

AFM remapped to 12.1:1 to 13.8:1 depending on the amount of throttle used (standard remap)

What else did you want to know about?

It can, running a pwm signal to your stock boost solenoid, but there would be no overboost warnings etc. Best to get a known product that works like Blitz dual solenoid or Greddy profec B

The rear housing is a Tial 1.06 due to ATP not having the .82 in stock. Should be perfect for the 3.5, not sure what will happen on the 2.5.

This flows more than the GT3076 apparently, especially with this housing. Should be good for 560hp on petrol and 600-650 on ethanol if I push it that hard. The new cnc compressor wheel should be efficient up over 30 psi too.

GTX3071 should work out cheaper than a high flow with more power won't it?

Looks like an interesting option if you can make it fit. How is the gearbox going to cope?

Not well im guessing. I will be testing the limits of the engine and box, where it breaks is anyone's guess.

I will probably have to go back to petrol to lower the torque as the 45mm wastegate has a 1 bar spring. I gestimate around 300kw on petrol at that boost but we will have to see.

A highflow will always be cheaper, its the cost of the adapters, lines, new exhaust and wastegate that add up. A gt3071 is a cheaper option than the GTX though and I should be able to jig up the adapters so you could buy and fit a Garrett to any VQ.

I'm not sure! What other options do they have? I would probably only go the standard stuff with the throttle restriction removal. My wife LOVES this car and I'm not allowed to do much else! Still I told her all the other stuff was for longevity (dump, exhaust, plenum spacer) but she definietley wants better economy so I can get the ecu no problem I think (read hope haha).

OK, got another email from Mark in the UK:

As long as all the cars have the same ECU number we will be okay , we need to make sure as we need the RAM for every different ECU part number I have attached the Part Number of your ECU in the fast system. If you send an ECU it needs to be the same ECU part number as your ECU. You will need to buy a Osiris Uprev system to allow you to upload the tuned Map onto your ECU this will cost US$500-00 , this will also allow you to log the ECU parameters send these to us and I can then tweak the map and send it back to you. This will only work with 1 car thou. Before we get to carried away can you look at the spare ECU's you may need to fit this to your car and then get the ECU number read by a Nissan Dealer. As I said the ECU you send to me MUST be the same as the ecu FITTED to your car, Then we can see if we can RAM out and sent away and see if Uprev can sort the patch out and then I can work on the throttle problem , we can then look at tuning the stock map as well then.

My reply:

I'm in Melbourne. Don't suppose there are any uprev tuners in Australia?

Just to make sure we are on the same page. I need to purchase the osiris system in order to log the data and for you to send to uprev to see the throttle restriction can be removed.

I take it There is no guarantee that uprev can remove the drive by wire restriction correct? So I could possibly be out of pocket $500 without any tangible results?

Furthermore, my car is already tyre using the greddy emanage ultimate piggyback ecu. Will I be able to continue using this to tune my car? I basically need uprev to remove the throttle restriction. All other aspect tuning wise I have my own tuner for.

Also, say if uprev is successful in developing a ecu remap for our cars, how much would the basic remap cost on top of the osiris system?

To which he replied:

1st we need an ECU to download the ROM , then Uprev will see if we can do the patch , then we can look at the throttle restriction in the throttle map. Another thing can you take a picture of the ECU connection to your spare ECU as I want to make sure you are using the Gen 1 VQ ECU that I think you have. If we can sort this out and Uprev can do the patch , there are 2 ways to upload the Osiris map into the ECU , either by sending the ECU to us for us to upload the map or you can buy a Osiris cable. The Osiris cable will allow you to up load the supplied map and data log the stock ECU outputs or you can buy a Osiris tuner that allows you to tune the stock ECU yourself ( not live but by logging tweaking the map and reflashing the stock ECU The 3 Level's of Osiris are as follows http://www.uprev.com/products.php I will ship these to you Free of charge. If we can get everything working , I would say the car will go far better if the stock ECU was tuned as we have found these ECU's are not really happy being piggy backed , we tune a lot of F/I 350Z's and the Uprev has transformed these cars after removing piggy back ECU's we can even play with the shift points in the gearbox with the Uprev system. I am afraid there isnt any Uprev dealers near to you in Aussie but I have a friend in Perth that will be coming an Uprev dealer that may be able to help you up load the base map to your ECU if you want to keep the E-manage as the tuning ECU. So 1st we need an ECU the same as your car to be shipped to me in the UK after taking a picture of the connector on the stock ECU. hope that's all clear.

he also attached this from FAST...can anyone confirm whether this is correct?

Start looking for gearbox conversions if your hard on the gear. Now I've been there and done that with rb powered street car (2007-2022) much prefer newer stuff. Anything 90's Japanese is not a great experience these days and highly over rated. My 2015 Brz with a heap of suspension mods is such a better car even with out the power of my old s chassis' even on track. If wanting to play light chassis and decent power for a  giggle a k swap 86/brz would be the go Check my old build for engine stuff I really need to pay attention to post 2016 BMW stuff but seem all very heavy 1600+kg
    • I mean, the 240i is not a Supra... make it drop a few hundred kg, have a sportscar chassis, clearance for wheels etc... Maybe I want a hardtop Z40i XDrive or something :p I do agree with you though and have long said the B58 Supra/240i/340i/440i is the new R Chassis/JDM90's turbo rocket for mod lovers to ... not always appreciative response lol. Doesn't make it not true though.
    • I will do the build myself but I will be paying for the tune because I don't know how much about that and would rather it be done right and by a professional
    • Will you build and tune it yourself or do you need to pay for labour?
    • Mechanically that's essentially what the M240i is, it's just not pretending it's not a BMW
