i can get a hold of a pretty neat 77 corolla 4 door so im thinking this car could be my 1st rebuild project i got some great ideas but want to ask a few people 1st see what opinions and ideas you have i know it isnt a nissan though i do own a R33 but i didnt know to many toyota sites only toymods which i couldnt get my head around.

So these are my objectives for the car.

Street semi race track car = keep reliable and steady.

so i was looking at 1st putting a 16v or 20v in and replace the EFI with quads or twin carbs though thinking it woul use my NA choice of motor to full capacity with a Carbie on the side im guessing EFI is probley the BEST way to go also stuffing with dizzy and stuff to get the firing happenin.

Now i dont want anything with more then 4 cylinders i havnet checked with engineers to see how big i can go but i have also though about the 2700cc Hilux engine which is very strong and can be turboed without many hasles.

Now call me crazy but these are probley already been done and alotta info out there about them and that is good but i have come up with an even better more crazy idea......

EJ20 or 25 turbo with a custom bellhouse Gbox RWD it should fit np and actully should be shorter in length then then a 4AGE or 2.7lt i forgot th ename already.

this will give me awesome chasis balance of course i will have to do alot of mods like sump and stuff but what you guys think yes i am on a budget but this is a project over a few years what you guys think hit me up.

Or if you guys know of any good sites that canb help me please add links.

If it was me I'd be doing an sr20det, light weight and compact and make enough power to push a light weight corolla around rather easily

true, my mates doing one atm. problem is sr's sound like arse.

4AGTE is where its at

i have never owned a rotor only known 2 peopkle to have rotors both RX7 series 3 and 6 1 was so unreliable and the S6 got stolen 3 times go well but also been told easy to make quick if you can afford the fuel lol.

But then if ya scared of fuel prices dont do up a car a guess.

i dunno enough about rotors which is another thing im thinking a 2Tr-FE i think it is 2700cc hilux engine or go 20V or just 4aGZE and put a T03 on there or somthing.

Might even just go 20v or 16V and run a carbie webber setup for easyness.

i say rotary......its been a burning obsession of mine to do a ke30/55 or 70 with one for years......i have a racing car with a 12a in it and ive beaten the crap out of it and it just wont give up.....our b2000 delivery ute has a series 4 6 port non turbo in it and had almost 300,000klms on it untill i burst a hose and cooked it on the way to work once.....it was my own fault i should have stopped and called someone to help and it still would be going....ive since built a new engine for it and its strong as an ox.....rotaries need to be serviced by the book and need to be put together correctly from the word go.....not just the engine but all the add on bits....a N/A ported rotary wont give you any trouble if its done right and looked after...a PP or bridge port 13b built up with late model housings/side plates,rx8 high comp rotors and e shaft, efi(maybe even vapour gas injection as im working on it now :)) will be quite torquey (contradictary to what youve heard)and rock solid reliable in a car like that.....i love the sound of them especially my mazda factory racing PP engine.....and the flames out the pipe.....oh the flames.....too cool :)

13b turbo.

Very light, capable of huge horsepower.

You could even dump the turbo. An infinitely easier build, lighter again and still comfortably capable of a couple hundred horsepower

Hmmm 13B aye my mates RX7 SIII wads a J port souned awesome lol.

yer i guess i just dunno alota about Rotors imma start some reading about them see what i can muster i will have to go turbo but i read that its easy to go from NA to turbo with a seal change?

im not sure why you would machine n/a rotors down :S.....i wouldnt bother with a turbo engine on a ke series corolla.....you could muscle somewhere between 250-300hp out of an na engine in that light body would perform quite nice and be very reliable and as stipulated put together properly from the start.....cutting corners on a rotary will hit you hard in the back pocket and thats where they get the bad rep from

Honda F22C would be the best engine (as fitted to the best AE86s).

then SR20 would be the next best perhaps centrifugal supercharger to keep the noise noice (similar weight to 4AGE but better design, more torque)

You could also use a light-weight alloy V6 (perhaps 3.0L from the Nissan or Toyota)...but I don't know much about these.

IMHO:

Rotors -

You want the compression as high as possible in rotors. Decompressing them is old-tech and/or for drag race motors only. With good engine management/tune/fuel and efficient turbines you want high compression and moderate boost ~10psi.

Apart from reliability the biggest draw-back of rotors is the low compression.

    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
