E.o.i. An Informal Track Day

Hi all,

I recently ran a Track Day at the Midvale Speed Dome, and it was great fun.

It was informal, there was no requirement for a CAMS licence, and all you needed was a roadworthy car and some basic safety gear.

All who attended informed me that they really enjoyed themselves, as it was a good opportunity to get their car out on the track, and poke it with a stick.

A few drivers also used the day to test out various settings and additions that they'd made to their car.

I'm planning on running another day like the previous one again, possibly either at the end of this month, or in the beginning/middle of June.

The previous event was a full day (9am - 4pm) and included lunch in the middle.

The cost was $150 per driver, and there were 12 drivers.

I'm asking for expressions of interest at this stage, with a date, final numbers and final cost to be confirmed.

Please let me know in this thread, and I'll update as necessary.

Thanks!

Awesome! I wish my car was up for it.. Can't wait till she's ready. Anyone know if there are any driver-training days coming up? It's been a big switch from my V8 fairmont to the GTR. :P

Sounds good! I'd love to come, the skylines n/a and I've never done anything on a track before though, but would love to give it a go and have some fun!

Ideally I'd like to have 15 or 16 drivers to make it good value for money = The price may come down a bit...

Just to confirm in this thread of those who are keen, and are prepared to make the commitment;

Me + 4 of my mates

Razor36

PewPew

Socrates

Grifforelli

Skyline'zor

Bren444 (subject to date)

BreathLess

Jonno34

V8or4x4 (subject to your conditions approval)

Put simply, all you need is

  • a licensed and roadworthy car which will scrutineered on the day.
  • Long sleeve shirt
  • Long pants
  • Closed in shoes
  • AS (Australian Standard) approved Helmet
  • Cash

I'll also need to check with the organisers to see when the track is available.

I'll do this, and in the meantime reply with your confirmations... :)

Thanks!

J

Hey mate, may not be able to make it if its in Mid June, since will be having exams around this period ..

Will confirm once you let us know of the date?

*Edit* - Also, can anybody recommend where to get a helmet from?

Sorry for the noobieness I've never done anything like this before!

Also, will it be okay if I'm on my green P's?

Cheers

Same for June.

Helmet - Gogear in ossy park is where I got mine from, 70-80 IIRC for the cheapest ADR approved one.

Ps fine.

Yes P plates are fine.

As well as Go Gear, Cully's Yamaha on Wanneroo rd in Balcatta also do cheap helmets.

Will advise on a suitable date once I hear back from organisers...

Keep a close eye on this thread!
