Ohh la la, look at that.

Now I am confident you will be a happy chappy :)

Lets see you crank some boost through it hey hey hey hey ;)

Just looked under my car and this dump pipe looks like its to suit a high mount manifold the offset from the turbo flange down to the flange that bolts up to your cat looks wrong im bolting it onto the standard headers :domokun:

Can anybody confirm this PLEEEEASE?

Gunna call liverpool exhaust and see what they say tomorrow because they made it

looks like its to suit a standard manifold to me. impossible to tell for sure from pics, but definately not to suit highmount.

The bit that heads up to the turbo does look longer than normal.... I think it might be to suit a high mount.

Not yet! Bottom end is in for machining / balancing at the moment, I should have it back next week. I still need to send the head off for a service. Then it's assembly time!

You get your car running with the gtx mate?

DVS JEZ and Mick_o have been hard at it all day, it is all installed and they are heading out to do the road tune soon.

Hopefully Mick can give us a bit of an update later tonite or tomorrow.

Full credit to Jez for patiently working through the issues that modifying cars can throw at you.

Thanks Andrew, glad u were there to give me a few neat little tricks especially the one on how U remove the side feed injectors from the rail. Loved that one.

Did a tiny bit of road tuning. Was wet and scary, but so far so good. Turbo is nice and responsive and has an awesome sound.

I just got home and left at 6 this morning. So a 16hr day. I couldnt leave micko there without getting it finished, i could tell he had been itching to drive it since he started ordering all the parts.

A big thanks to Jez for his effort today absolutely massive mate im cheering u are a champion :) sorry bout the onions i guess the saying once u go black u cant go back doesnt apply to onions hey? Lol i also want to thank Andy for dropping in and saying hi, checking up on us and giving us some helpful tips and especially for delivering my new cat Haha much appreciated mate.

We peaked 13.5psi tonight very briefly before the wheel spin in the wet.

My car did feel a bit livelier down low than your current setup but obviously hard to say without traction and proper tuning .

Was shocked how much my exhaust note changed from stock turbo and bodgey gutted cat to what i have now sounds awesome!

Cant wait for full tune and E85!

Think its gunna be a tough lil street package :)

Thats a bugger mate but i can tell you that you will be happy with your turbo selection from my first feel of my car today and the sound is good too :)

    • Hi everyone, I've been wrestling with this for a while now and have been trying to find out the cause. For context, the turbos used are Garrett 2860 -5s, the BOV is a BNR32 HKS SSQV IV kit, the car is currently tuned to ~470 whp on 17.5 psi. The car drives normally, pulls well when it doesn't happen, and I can replicate it fairly easily. It does not sound like turbo shuffle or flutter. The engine has only a thousand or so miles and has had this behavior since it was completed. After my engine was built for my R32 GTR, I noticed that the car now sometimes makes an air discharge sound on what appears to be positive boost pressure that sounds really similar to a BOV. I had thought that it was a BOV issue but even when replacing it with a brand new unit, the sound persisted. It seems like it's coming from the passenger side but I may be mistaken. The closest scenario I could find was this post here https://www.gtr.co.uk/threads/maybe-a-boost-leak-opinions.147955/https://www.gtr.co.uk/threads/maybe-a-boost-leak-opinions.147955/ started by @yakshii and it sounds very similar. As in, at partial throttle once I reach positive boost I begin to hear the same psh psh psh psh psh sound like air is leaking somewhere when I keep the throttle in the same position. It most commonly happens in 4th gear at around 3-3.5k RPM and 5th gear around 2.5-3k RPM, which seems to coincide with normal positive boost thresholds. It might be similar to what @Austrian GTR mentioned about his own HKS SSQV. Notable difference would be that when he applies more throttle when it happens, it stops. In my scenario if I apply more throttle during this repeated psh psh psh sound, the cadence of the sound gets faster and louder rather than stopping. If I lift off slightly and apply throttle again, it will normally stop and pull without issue. I've checked all rubber couplers to ensure that they are tight, but have not gotten the opportunity to properly do a pressurized boost leak test. If anyone has had similar experiences or thoughts on what might be the cause, I'd be very keen to hear them. I also have a video of it happening from inside the cabin, if that would make it easier to understand: https://youtu.be/2zqZXcx8jbA
    • I'd want at least $40K for mine, but thats easy to say cos I'm not selling anyway.
    • That's incorrect. We have 4 seasons, consisting of pre winter, winter, post winter and a small glimpse of hope!
    • I spotted a black C34 in Mittagong this morning!
