compound crossbow = accuracy and death

more illegal than a gun now...go figure.

Had one to play with for a while, stupid powerful, so much more than any .22

But accuracy and range much less. (this said I was doing target shooting at the time so a "bad" shot was 1cm out at 20 meters.)

Honestly dude, a professional stunt rider who earns his income doing mono's and other stunts. The risk he's taking could be less than anyone on here dragging a car or doing a slide around a corner, are they all morons? Maybe for an inexperienced rider the coffin is expected, but you don't actually know anything about this guys ability. Maybe understand this before you start calling my friends names.

i dont need to know him, his a fk wit its a public road i highly doubt he professionally stunt rides on open roads with other motorists around to endager.

As a so called professional it makes his behaviour even worse, he should know better. For what its worth i have the same opinion of people racing or sliding the streets.. just cos this guy wets your appatite makes him noless a fool than every other hoon on a public road breaking the law and being reckless.

good luck convincing me otherwise.. ill keep an eye out for him on ACA... dead.

On the topic of legalities and double standards, I went for an archery lesson on Sunday...pretty good fun. But the thought occurred to me that you need a licence and gun safe to possess a gun, yet you can purchase a bow and leave it out in your back yard - these things are quieter than guns and you could kill someone pretty easily with an arrow :/

Suddenly have an interest in bows now; anyone here do archery or done it before?

Has been a while, but yes - expensive hobby

Which one did you go to?

Field archery is way more fun than standard target archery

Believe you're thinking crossbow, not compound

compound crossbow = accuracy and death

A mate who was present on Sunday may or may not have owned one and I may or may not have shot it through a deoderant can. They are freakishly accurate at short ranges. Word on the street is you can buy one in another country and have it sent over disassembled as power tool parts...

And whilst you were typing that I was on the phone to my travel agent !

What's the diff with field archery?

I went to Box Hill.

I thought he was talking about compound bows too, but Hamish said compound crossbow, which is illegal.

Field archery is like golf, usually in some bushy area, walk from target to target, different distances etc.

Doh, missed that

Ahhh yeah, can see a lot of arrows getting lost in that and they are more expensive than golf balls lol.

Illegal on the left, legal on the right :/

Wasn't it you that was saying ducatis are no good vs ash saying his mates love theirs?

They're not no good, they're overrated and overpriced in a general sense. But like cognac the price part is often not an issue. The majority of owners use them for cafe transport which is sad for any bike. This is why when someone uses them right, like I believe Ash was saying his mates do, then it's awesome, just as awesome as any bike. When I took an 848 around Sepang it was a perfectly good bike, but a Japanese one for half the price could do just as well.

Hahahahaha, even the fact that you watch ACA is enough said for me. Last I saw an ad for that show it was on imports. Enjoy but you'll be waiting a long time lol

the problem is that i'm old and after 10 years in hospitality i know pricing trends of products i buy ;)

hennessey XO has undergone 3 price rises in the past 3 years that have been more than susbstantial. in some markets this has seen the price for the end user increase by over 50%

LVMH (louis vuitton moet hennessey) have bought out a lot of the competition in the market and are driving costs up.

hennessey paradis has almost doubled in price in the last 5 years.

hennessey XO is just the XO with the name... and has the price to reflect it's market standing, not the quality of the product - dont get me wrong.... it's a great drink... seriously great... but just overpriced these days.

I blame hip hop

if you want a reccomendation, - paul girard XO 25 yr is relatively easy to find and a better drop at a similar better price

personally I prefer armagnac, grab a bottle of 1979 comte de lamaestre. tastes 100x better than henney XO and should set you back less coin

I shall try these things you speak of. It took me a year to open the xo though so may take a while :P

The XO I have was a gift, happy with that price! :P

    • After @Kinkstaah debacle, I'd never want to try and get it right 😛
    • The hood lines up with the fenders. The front bar doesn't perfectly line up with the fenders where the wheel arch is. You have to 'squeeze' the front bar 'in' as it wants to naturally flare out and be longer on the sides. There's a few threads where people notice this when they only swap a GTR style bumper and front bar. Unless you have genuine OEM items - you may be better served getting conversion kits. There are GTT bumpers to fit GTR hoods. There are GTR hoods (non genuine) to fit the GTT bracketry. MAY
    • The real question is, on some of those wild roads they call highways, how many times did a farmer in an old ute from the early 2000s blaze past you over double lines?   Tassie is a wild and really cool place, and after doing a work related road trip there January of 24, I understand why Targa Tasmania is ran there, and is so tough to do well at! We had a brand new Camry Hybrid that handled quite nicely, and thankfully weren't in an old car, because cresting some of those hills in a 100kmh zone for it to suddenly be like "surprise f**kers, this is a recommended 30kmh hard right turn" wouldn't be pretty. We weren't racing the Camry around, but we weren't slouching in the bends either. But my lord those old farmers know their old clapped out utes, and those roads, as they were absolutely hammering it!   You're also super lucky to make it up to Mt Wellingtong this time of year. It's often road closed with snow/ice! Also, I hope you hit up Salamander Road in Hobart for some insanely good food (I highly recommend the dimly lit Irish pub for a Guiness Pie, or even the bangers and mash!!!)   How long did the Ferry take to get across? I want to do a road trip of Tas on my own time, but I get horrifically sea sick, and I don't want me on the Ferry, just the car 😛
    • So far so good, about 30km on it so far and nothing out of sorts yet thankfully
