Just did a online quote for 32 GTR, and it's $500-800 a year cheaper than R33.

A car without airbags and slighty weaker chassis is cheaper to insure, lolwut?

what!? really who with? never heard of it going up with any claims..did you modify your policy? add mods?

Nope. Didn't add anything. They are using the hail damage claims as a "reason" to up premiums to recoupe the costs.

Someone also called JCI and was told of using hailstorms that happened on last xmas as a excuse to jack up the premiums.

Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Just go Shannons!

I was with Just Cars but this year they reduced my agreed value and up the premium.

Shannons gave me a cheaper premium and kept my higher agreed value from what Just Cars gave me last year.

Shannons only managed to shave $30 off a year, hardly worth parking it in garage every night for.

RACV, with $2k excess, they want $972 for 32 GTR and $1397 for R33 GTR...

But your excess is higher...

So in a sense it evens itself out.

But if RACV is doing you good so far then just stick with that.

Well, not that keen on paying $2k excess should the time comes to when I have to make an claim. And RACV doesn't list their 'market' value on the website so I looked through Redbook, I felt it isn't worth paying $2k excess for $12k 32 GTR. Plus I'm unsure how flexible RACV are with modifications.

Ah ok, I see.

Still, give Just Cars and Shannons and negotiate to an agreement of what suites both you and them best.

Old plastic clove clip things nissan seem to love are so annoying! Managed to only break half of 1 though... Taking off the plastic wheel arch thingy took a proper awhile trying not to break those brittle bastards lol. Think years of outside work hardened them :S

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
