VII.9

The VII is a bit unloved, as the body styling is plain when compared to the VI and VIII.

VII are cheap, why would you bother with a VI with flogged bushes and gearbox.

inb4 Richo buys one for Time Attack

According to Wiki:

R32 GTR - 1,430kg

R33 GTR - 1,550kg

R34 GTR - ?

Evo 6 - 1,260–1,360 kg

Evo 7 - 1,320–1,400 kg

Evo 8 - 1,320–1,410 kg

Evo 9 - 1,310–1,490 kg

Add 18" wheels/tyres, exhausts, bigger brakes (a common GTR upgrade where EVO doesn't) and so on and it can certainly get higher :)

I suspect a R33 is heavier than 1550 to start off with. My GTS-R was 1400kg without me in it as i weighed it, and the GTR feels a LOT heavier than 150kg more. I remember driving Snowys R34 years back and it felt like at least 250-300kgs packed into it as it was similar from driving a EVO6 to a R33 GTR feels about the same in terms of difference.

Plus half the time the figures are not 100% accurate from a manufacturer as they dont say if its kerb weight (full fluids) or not.

A 6 and a 33R similar weight? No chance .. ive driven both and the 6 feels much lighter, even though the 33 R ha more power.

Maybe a 7 might be nearing the weight of a 33r but I doubt it

Seems about right

I can confirm this for you, my GTR is a 1999 R34, i have coilovers and a exhaust on it with a set of NUR spec NTo3+M rims, and i had to weigh it for blue slip, it came it at 1640KG with a 3/4 tank of fuel.

With next to no fuel,...

Eastern Ck weigh station (if accurate)...

V-Spec N1 = 1528Kg

Tony, nah cos no mention of N1 turbs, PFC and I don't see Brembos from the pics.

Different coilovers and 30,000-ish km has 'disappeared' there's paint fade on the roof that I don't recall seeing when its in my ownership.

Lol Aaron what you smoking brah

Don't think anyone said the 6 and the 33R were similar weight :P

what it sounds like? lol i've read it three times and sounds the same.. maybe my mind is f**ked today

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
