Quick question guys.

On my licence, Licence Expiry: 03/09/2012

So does that mean it expires at the end of the 3rd or starting the 3rd it's expired?

Your licence expires on the 3rd at 11:59pm. So you need the new licence ready to use on the 4th.

I thought a registered vehicle can be defected anywhere, wheres the private property aspect come into it?

nope. against da law mang.

they arent able to defect on private property, in yo garage, on yo driveway, in a shopping centre(unless they pulled you over from driving on a pubic road)

Has that been confirmed by anyone or forum myth?

Not saying your wrong just surprised cos really if it's registered the intent is to use it on the road and people get defects at McDonald's an car parks etc

Yeh confirmed I don't know where it would be written though, its why they couldn't defect any of the cars in the carpark at JDMST.. As its a privately owned business and privately owned building. A lot of those defects if you read it carefully the cop has written the street name and not "oakleigh McDonald's" for example. If you were to take a photo of the defect being written or a video(even better) and fight the defect and fine you would win. Jono w.( is a mate of mine) who is a hwy patrol officer and has confirmed this for me

The only catch is if you were to get pulled over on the highway and no where else to park but maccas.. If u were to fight it, then they have video of you driving

i've heard that shopping center carparks are deemed "highways" and thus you can be defected in them. happened to a whole bunch of cars at some meet in a Chaddy carpark. cops were notified before hand, rocked up and blocked exits and handed out defects to show cars (inc some that had been trailered in)

have also seen it happen at monash uni carparks when we used to do kebab meets

lol try telling Knox TMU they can't defect you in a shopping centre or carpark, they'll just send you an EPA in the mail.

Yeh you can get EPA'd anywhere, air isnt private property lol

I'd've have fought it. Especially the monash one. It's definitely private property.

But I'm not ENTIRELY sure about shoppig centers. I'm 100% sure with carpark buildings and mickey d's n shit, back in my adolescent days cop told me he couldn't defect my supra in mcdonalds carpark for this reason, so gave me a fine for parking in a disabled zone lol

    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
    • That worked out PERFECTLY! Thank you big time to JJ. He was able to swap me his stock diff. He drove all the way to me as well. Killer! Removal & install was pretty straightforward. The diff itself is HEAVY. So that’s a 2 man job.  Man does the car drive nice now! Couldn’t have worked out any better 👌
