My VL's fuel gauge (and probably everyone else's) used to intermittently stop working. A good slap of the dash would bring it back to life usually. Finally got fed up with that and pulled the cluster out, turned out there were a bunch of cold-soldered joints that had cracked. Re-flowed them and no more worries

I thought of doing this 12 months ago. storage/security/tools are a bit f an issue unless strict rules are enforced.

car is at tuners for run-in. thing won't idle when warm... suspect AFM has finally carked it :( bought one from a member literally 2 days ago. hope I get it before this weekend...

vic club should hire one. we all chip in 10 bucks a week, or 20. we have lift installed, and we all have to book in to use the workshop.

I'd want to keep my car there as well, since I don't have a garage :D

Huge liability issues right there, I doubt SAU Vic would wanna get involved in that without some exxy insurance as they could pretty easily get sued...but it isn't a bad idea by any stretch.

Just get a couple of people to chip in for a 1 year lease up front, get address and drivers licence details, install a security camera and away you go!

yea i get ya. but if we leave it empty...... some one would be there every night working anyway haha!

im down for weekly payments. no up front shizzle tho! but only if its got a lift~

Can pick up a 2 post hoist for $3k or so I think...

I know a few blokes who share a garage in an industrial area in a similar way, seems to work for them and it makes their girlfriends happy to not have all the junk in the garage ;)

everyone on the internet is just like "just solder the contacts on the AFM, its a piece of piss" "Z32 AFMs often get bad connections, just open it up and have a look"

no one tells you how to open it or how not to open it. if mine wasnt f**ked, it certainly is now lol

anyone know where i can get one locally even if its a bosch one?

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
