You want to shave 2-4mm

Thats going to be the difference between a 255 and a 265.

Or a 235 and a 245

Etc etc etc

What on earth makes you think shaving 2-4mm will allow an extra 20mm?

5 spokes x 4mm = 20mm duh

next time in office need to swing by and get pics of the fg xr6 on d1r that sis outsie the cheap brothle around the corner...give an idea how bad 18 d1rs looks on falcon.

only issue is last time some one trired to:

Well it would poke out 12mm more than my previous rims that had 275s so not sure what I'd be able to fit, they were pretty flush and touched on some weird driveways

Bachelor of Arts is the bomb man like basically puts you straight on the fry station at McDonald's

But seriously mate sister did like aerospace engineering but like theirs zero jobs in Aus for that

Girl in engineering will get priority over males easily.

Sometimes I plan to go to Thailand and coming back here to get a job...

Thought as much

And those who pursue careers that aren't particularly available in Australia, then cry about it.... Unlucky.

Engineering was in demand when I started studying, by the time I finished it was game over for me.

Not guilty? Typical leftist junk.

Engine build complete after many dramas.

'greg can you come here and tune the start'

Rock up with laptop

Play with ECU

car starts... and appears to run/idle fine/way smoother than it did before it died, no smoke, no leaks, just... purring away

f**k, expect 7 years of bad luck now everyone

I'm sorry

What dramas? (Other than turbo)

Happy overall or not really?

Preference perhaps, but in a non existent industry in aus good luck.

Lol.

Aaron has already rolled them for me, maybe I'll go down to import monster one day and try them on..

You had professors? thought you were rocking varrstoens

I want to at least fit some 265s f**k those 225s and 235s what am I gonna do with those lol

I did?

Well if they need more we can organise that too

Nah, to be fair there haven't been many dramas, other than surprise, new turbo needed! Just a lot of things to correct from previous build. A lot of time was lost engineering a flex plate from scratch that can handle dat torque.

Which when you think about it, when your engine builder is creating a custom flex plate for an auto transmission from a mixture of RB30 and RB25 parts for a R34 gearbox which is different again.. you've probably chosen the correct people to solve problems.

Yeah remember when I had the Varrstoens? must of been 2 years ago..

Or you could just run manual like a real man

That's what other supercharged v8 drivers they tell me before they loose

Also, do want to try those professors on.. interested in how they'd look in 20s

I could, but where's the fun in driving the car, having more fun and saving a LOT of money?

That's not what owning a skyline is about, man.

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
