Well I thought these were perfect quality Bronze LMGT4s that came on my B/Blue R34 GT-R from Japan.

18"x10.5" +15

But I didn't realise that...

* on receiving the car, there was gutter rash on 3 of the 4 rims

* as the tyres were being replaced, I could see they were originally white

* as I was going to have them powdercoated, one was cracked

So...

* some months ago, I had the edges of the lips shaved by Magman at Punchbowl

* the cracked rim was bored > TIG welded by Ozwheel at Minchinbury (Paul)

* the 4x rims were powdercoated to "Nismo Black" by Craved Coatings at Penrith (Chris)

And the result is...

And when the car comes along, they'll have Nismo Wheel Nuts to match...

Thanks to the jobs done by the boys up above!

I know the jobs were progressive over time, but I didn't know what I was going to do with the rims until they matched up with my plans for them to be satin black.

Looks good Terry,

Chris does nice work dosent he! I have always been happy with his coatings.

Tell me did he put the stickers on then a clear over the top or did you stick them on yourself???

I have to get him to do my lmgt2's but dunno what to do about the sticker.

Nice job on the rims Terry - they look amazing. The stickers look MINT, almost floating under the surface. I guess they've gotta have been put under the clear. I really need to replace the nismo stickers on my LMGT4s, they're looking a bit worn. Might have to order some from RHD.

The nismo wheel nuts I put on mine really set things off too, you're gonna love 'em. I've left mine with all 5 for each wheel for now - really contemplating trying to track down a set of 4 black lock nuts though. The nismo nuts might be 7-sided, but I'm not sure it would deter enough.

Edit: I'm a bit surprised you didn't track down some center-caps for them as well. They really complete the rims in my opinion. When I picked mine up, they were missing, so I sourced some from RHD - totally worth it. Your worry now is if you grabbed some they'd need to be painted to match :(

Hey Terry, what is 'Nismo Black' when it's in a Dulux Powdercoat Colour Selector Chart? I'm tossing up between matt or satin black powdercoat for a set of rims of mine and can't decide. To my eye your finish looks like satin as it is reflecting some light. Any chance you could confirm?

Cheers.

The Omori Edition 'Nismo Black' as they call it is essentially a satin finished black - and this was matched by Chris at Craved Coatings.

I opted for the above process because these LMGT4s are 10.5" wide compared to buying Omori with 9.5" width. Omoris have been available from OTR till recently. Omoris don't have any markings/stickers/embossing to indicate that they are Omoris through my enquiries.

Thanks guys for heads up. Pics of these on the actual car should be up soon. Ta

PS: Dave, I stuck these stickers on afterwards.

I'm trying to source a set of 4x black flush centre caps atm.

Then again, I could leave the wheels on without any at all.

Then again, I can use these centre caps that were on before.

I'm listening to you guys; and have absorbed what's been said already up above.

Why dont you order the flat center caps from nengun then get them coated to suit so at least you know its all the same shade.

Im in the process of getting my LMGT3's cleaned up and stuff but will be running without caps due to not being able to source any and the LMGT4 cap setup looks completely different. The joys of LMGT rims having to run Nismo lug nuts because they are the only ones that fit, I have a wasted set of Rays lug nuts here now after finding out the hard way the 19mm head doesn't fit and it has to be 17mm.

Ta Thanks!

I've been communicating on that with Jesse Streeter about the flat centre caps. I'll get some sort of answer this coming week I'm sure.

Yes and I'm fortunate to have the Nismo lug nuts all ready. Black too. Are there any other colours?

nismo lug nuts only come in black as far as I know. I have a set of the long ones here (50mm), When I ordered mine it was actually cheaper to order them from the USA then anywhere I could find in Japan. Also a little bit of randomness the Nismo lug nuts are still slightly heavier then the Rays (thats the long nismo lug nuts compared to the long rays) and I also think I saw somewhere that you shouldn't tighten them with a ratchet gun.

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
