Yes Ferni - you need a CAMS licence. But getting one is no big deal - you can even get one on the day. Basically just a fee of $91pa (you also have to be a member of a CAMS club. But most track days you can get memberships on the day as well)

Ash - dont worry about it mate. $20 to fix it was no big deal.

Bugger off you lot....I wanted them first!!!!!!

I started another thread on Ben's awesome performance http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=38887

I was on stock tyres with rapidly disintegrating rear pads...had to drive home on metal so the brake shop gets some of my money to machine them. Ended up on a 1:36.1 but as you can see the anti roll bars need an upgrade. Tyres were melting pretty fast as well. Can't wait for Sydneykid to dismantle my setup and driving style from the pics.

BTW he will be down at Sandown this weekend (or maybe next...he did say next today so maybe this weekend is clear for the cruise.....I'm so confused) so i for one will be going for the racing and to say hello.

Hopefully R34boy (if that was him) has the pics of the 'rarri that smashed.

Slow car... slow camera.... We get the idea James, you are a slow kinda guy in general.

Aw

I guess I'll have to pull my finger out and hit the track.

Avatar changed until I do something about it...

As was discussed at the MAS/Committee meeting last week... (might have been after you left Adam)

SAU - Vic will not have any affiliation with NDSOC in relation to CAMS etc.

Members wanting to do track will have to join with them directly.

We looked into it and currently... aint gonna happen

For more Info, see myself/Snowman/Jameszilla.

we are all upto date with whats going on there and can provide more information if you like :(

Uh huh, had left. GOD DAMN IT!! :)

Ferni - no test - just fill it in :)

Everyone who was SAU on Sunday - Sorry I didn't come say hi and introduce myself - all the excitement was too much for me!!

Also all your mega cars are a bit daunting...

im looking fwd to getting onto a track... wont fix up the body on the ceff til AFTER i do a track day :D the kit on it looks like it would be taken to peices if i went off the bitumen :D

$91 bucks? thats pretty good, i was reading and it was saying it was a few hundred / year

is there a driving test involved etc?

ferni, the C3 full race license is and needs a test. Most events like this just need L2S, you join a cams car club, fill in a form, pay $91 and you're on the track

l2s license http://www.cams.com.au/content.asp?PageID=...rs&ObjectID=311

c3 license http://www.cams.com.au/content.asp?PageID=...rs&ObjectID=301

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
