Umm, already confirmed it will be a Fuga (or whatever the numnuts at nissan call it when they try to sell it here under the relaunched inifinity brand).

BTW boring race today. And my new favourite team, the Kelly Bros, sucked

/goes to wash mouth out

Oh really? So it's not the Altima? Someone posted an Auto Action article in the thread in General which said it was (not that they're always correct lol).

That is awful. Too "rounded" or something. At least the upper model Falcodores look aggressive which sells them in the showroom to the V8SC crowd. Can't see many people rushing off to buy that, no matter how tough the supercar version looks lol

Yeh, I will have trouble supporting Rick but I dont mind Tod and I have to say Greg Murphy is probably the only guy along with Lowndes currently running around that I like. So for the sake of Murphy I hope the Nissan move for Kelly Racing is a good thing

I wouldn't be expecting 888 dominance next year.

COTF is going to level the grid. Any single team or driver could shine. There is a dew guys who have driven specific tube chassis touring cars who could be well up the front next year.

Look at the french dude cutting his teeth at the moment. Driven DTM and done very well, could be a real threat.....

Doesn't seem like such a stupid idea giving him a drive when the cars of next year are right up his ally.

they will be at the pointy end of the field like always. the reason being that they are very good at what they do. you don't stay at the front of the field for so long just out of luck. they also would supply parts to so many other teams if they weren't good parts. the same will happen next year.

I never said they won't be at the front. I only said they won't be as dominant.

888 built chassis and components are very high quality, I have a few friends who work directly for the business or sub contract work from them, one of my casual fabricators at the moment is an ex888 fabricator his work is exceptional.

Next year having 888 components won't mean squat though. A controlled chassis is exactly that. A controlled chassis. Gaining the most from the said chassis is where guys like dutton and nillsson will shine but the others won't be far behind.

What I find rather funny about the V8 Cabs vs you average import debate, is that people drool over 500hp 3L DOHC turbo engines yet think nothing of getting 600+hp from a very restricted 300cube 2 valve N/A V8

Most dont have a clue what goes into the squeezing that much power and reliability! from a small cube 2V V8

Same goes for Nascar that top engine builder e.g Roush-Yates are seeing close to 900hp from a carburetted 358cube engine and they will run for 6+hrs at 9000rpm without raising a sweat.

There is way more technology and engineering nouse going into these "bogan yobbo" cars than people think

I think Nissan entereing can only be a good thing for the sport...but I hate to imagine the one eyed fan boys thinking that the "Nissan" will be better than the local stuff.

Ch7 has done a fairly subtle but effective job of eduma-cating the bogans that a Supercab is not a road car with a body kit

In the next couple of months combined with John Boston and track school we are organizing a track school theory session at the workshop.

Will have my currently running VE chassis, ex championship VY chassis and a borrowed COFT chassis. On display for people to see up close what's actually gone into them to build Race cars.

Coming along to answer questions as well is a couple of current and ex supercar fabricators / engineers from top teams who I regularly deal with.

As well as for the import nuts insights s2000, the kallis EVO and a couple of high end GTR's

Keep eyes out in the NSW event section, all the details are going to be posted there soon.

yeah and they are only running a 4 speed box, no ecu at all and during most races the top speed will be higher than what f1 cars reach.

I was watching a NASCAR race the other day... 165MPH... Slowest corner on the track... Top speeds around 185MPH...

Fucking NUTS!!!

    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
    • Yeah - I mean, go the other way. Smaller range. Not larger.
    • To re-cap, I bought: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Lsailt-8G-Infiniti-Q50-Q60-2014_1601171829627.html?spm=a2756.trade-list-buyer.0.0.2cd476e9FTIlKE As you can see, if I bought 20 it was $653, but I bought 1 so it was $1,170. I was very tempted to buy 2 and resell 1 at 25% cheaper. @MBS206, I am not sure if they do a Kluger one, here is their list but it might be there under a global model name: http://www.lsailt.com/product/android-interface?page=1 Keep in mind these full android replacements have basically all the bits a phone does (cpu, ram, storage, wifi, bluetooth, usb interfaces) other than a screen (it uses a host), thus the $800+ cost. Android Auto screen mirroring is MUCH cheaper as it's just a cut down shell, input mirroring and output mirroring BTW I also need that "screen off" feature, it is much harder to see wildlife even if a dash is reasonably dark. Both the Fuga and V37 have display off buttons for night use, they just come back on for a second or 3 if you interact with it, eg skip a song.
