well at least you'll be able to hear Ted when they cut to him in pit lane

New V6 engines:

1 Pro

257 Cons

:P

But seriously...... they just don't have the that wail that the V8s had. Hopefully they sound better in real life

+1 for wanting Maldonado to leave Williams. They arent going to get any more sponsership by having a driver who is hopeless. They need a talented driver to impress the sponsers and bring more money to the team. Bottas was absoloutly outshining Maldonado at the start of the year. Not sure what happened there

I can't stand the V8 engines they currently have. Well.. not quite.. I'll tolerate them but they don't do much for me.

The V10's on the other hand.. they gave me an eargasm. Never saw a race with V12's but I would probably cream myself.

Turbo + wastegate should sound good.

Correct, on next years engines there are two Motor/Generator Units (MGU). These MGU's are the primary KERS now called MGU-K, and the secondary ERS called MGU-H, the MGU-H is designed to recover lost energy from the exhaust heat (hence the -H in the name) by driving a generator unit connected to the turbine shaft. Depending on how much energy is recovered from the exhaust heat, the turbo's airflow will be modulated in accordance to the engines requirements, this motor will also be used to drive the turbine at low exhaust gas velocities, thereby removing any inherent throttle lag with the system.

The grandson of Australian motorsport great Sir Jack Brabham has secured himself a drive in the support category for the IndyCar championship in the United States.

Matthew Brabham was confirmed on Sunday as the pilot of the Andretti Autosport entry for next year's Indy Lights 2014, following his dominant win in this year's Pro Mazda Championship.

Brabham earned the right to move up to the Indy Lights championship after winning the Pro Mazda title in emphatic style, claiming 13 race wins from 16 starts.

It means the 19-year-old is just one step away from joining compatriots Will Power and Ryan Briscoe in America's premier open-wheel motorsports championship.

"I'm really excited to be moving into Indy Lights next year," Brabham said.

"I remember seeing the Indy Lights cars for the first time in St Petersburg when I was racing USF2000 there last year. I was blown away by how quick they were and how cool they sounded.

"It's going to be a fun year, and I'm very pleased to be on board with Andretti Autosport for a second year."

this is why I love tech

and it will eventually filter down to us consumers

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
