I sent an email and got this in reply,

The CAMS Come and Try Day 2013 will consist of the following events:

- 1 hour of Supersprint which includes cars being sent out at different intervals, you will be competing against the clock and not anyone else. There will be a coach with you inside the car to teach you how to use the whole race track also. You may be able to get around 5-10 laps on the new South Circuit at Sydney Motor Sport Park

- 1hour on Motorkhana which includes a circuit being developed by Thornleigh Car Club who will be running that section and it’s a way to test your control over a car on wet and dry surfaces through some tough turns around cones and returning to the starting position, this is also a time trial based event. So you may also be able to get a few turns on this.

Keen to try the South Circuit but doesn't sound like there will be much track time

Pffft, for $30 it's way beyond a bargain! Do it, the things you learn when you take up an opportunity like this will FAR outweigh the cost.

If you really expect more track time when you're paying such a low entry fee, then you have no idea on what it takes to run an event like this. We, as a club, would love to run an official SAU-NSW event there, but we can't afford it.

:D

Exactly Nick, that's why I'm booked in for it. $30 to get on the track, with a coach is winning.

It's a come and try day, not a full on track day because they are trying to encourage people to Motorsport, not running it for those already involved.

Yeah that's true but more track time, more to learn :D
