No need for a pod mate, you will only go backwards. simply cut a few holes on the side of the airbox if you think the snorkel is restricting flow. I have seen nearly 500kw through a cotton panel element.

Braided hoses won't help much, they are only rated to 200 degrees anyway. Bring it around again sometime and we can try and run new rubber hoses over the top of the engine. Or when we do the oil cooler perhaps.

Moh, you are the bitch. :P

Update:

Car issue all sorted

Ended up being a faulty CAS

22 psi down to 18 psi, conservative tune to make sure it is all ok.

Then will be coming back with 2-3 degrees more timing (~20rwkw) and up to 6 psi boost

Top line no airbox

2nd line airbox restriction

30kw gain from not having the airbox lid is interesting, shame we didn't run it up with the lid on and no filter though.

Yes will have to book my car again in the future to modify that airbox :/

holy shit mother f**ker yoda and shit.

you got the 350 you wanted on 98, and then add some for E85. (this is on E85 yeah?)

Yeah tune is on e85

Trent said its going to go over 400rwkw easily once we bump up the timing again and boost

But yeah don't need that much power! Happy with my airbox limited 350rwkw for now lol

Haven't even had a chance to boot it yet, wonder if I will have traction....

Interested about the airbox issue my tuner told me same of being held back some kws due to the airbox. But I've also seen people proving that there are no gains with pods.

Depends at what power level I spose

Im sure at 280rwkw difference would be neglible but once you get up in power it makes power harder to get rather than a brick wall restriction

Updates?

Sorry no real updates, have been overseas and taken a step back from working on the car

I think its time to stop spending money on cars lol

In saying that hit a rock in the middle of the freeway that split my lower lip.

So that will get fixed with the insurer along with fixing the whole front bumper, then when I get money a set of D9R's then i think im set :)

what body kit is that mate? looks crazy

Just a Ztune kit mate :)

I was following your thread really closely up until/before you got the kit (and it was still white haha)

Ermagersh you have come a long way man, absolutely balls to wall in terms of the build. Hoping to follow a similar path when I get off p's; in terms of the GTR kit.

PS
I looked up JDL they really don't ship to AUS :'(

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
