Yeah fair enough, as I said though it's just a general get some warmth into me, get blood flowing etc.

Not saying it was a specific targeted warm up.

It's a terrible general. those big movements are compounds for a reason. Whole body is working. Should get the blood flowing.

So have moved curls to after rows as requested, starting with squat now, though still very light, chucked another 5kg on so it's a whopping 30kg.

I mentioned before, to find a comfortable spot, and still only going parallel I have to rotate my feet outwards, approaching 45 degrees in some instances as my ankle is quite unhappy about the squatting motion. Is this a big problem? I'd like to continue squatting and slowly adding weight, but don't want to get into a bad habit straight up. I'm still walking 3k each day also so the ankle is getting plenty of use, next physio appointment is the 19th, it's been just on 2 mths since the pin came out and progress has been good so far.

I've also started adding some weight to other things slowly and completing everything, 1-3kg here and there on each exercise as the 2min breaks are glorious. I'd be inclined to say my arms have gotten a touch smaller if anything though, missus seems to think I haven't changed though so it may be in my head from no pump. Admittedly, my back/shoulders feels pretty good. Given I've still got a bit in the tank after each exercise there's still plenty of room for growth.

You might be just loosing some fat too, if you're getting stronger your muscles generally aren't getting smaller.

Your knees will follow your feet. 45 is fine if that's what makes you get down. As long as everything else is in check.

I'd say a touch of fat has come off since I started walking every day again, this is good news lol.

Was talking to TTT via PM and he correctly reminded me that I wanted to change things up because the old way wasn't working so will keep at it for a while and see how I go.

So having some slow success.

Back is getting better with stretching, Myo again this Thursday and she said she'll also look at my ankle. Physio is on the 19th also.

Have added a little weight to some things, and a bit more to others. Swapped in Deadlift instead of SLDL/RDL. Had the missus spot me on the pickup and motion to ensure my back is straight my lower back feels fine and she said it seems straight.

Workout is looking like this.

Squat 3x10 44kg (Ankle is feeling not too bad, especially if I have 45 degrees on my feet position) Not taking 2min breaks here as it's light enough, the harder part is putting it on my shoulders. I'm happy that it's moving along anyway.

Bench 3x8 90kg

Crunches

DL 3x8 44kg

Military Press/Shoulder Press 3x8 44kg (getting a little harder at this weight so Rev is a friggen freak)

Alternating Leg Raises
Bent Over Row (about 45 degrees) 3x8 44kg
Ezi Bar Curl 3x8 41.5kg

Bench Dips 3x50

Also jogged most of my 3k walk last night, very slowly though, took 20mins to do 3ks and I jogged probably 70-75% of it so not exactly fast. Previously I was jogging the same loop in about 15-16mins so not that quick anyway but I've never been a fast distance runner.

  • 3 weeks later...

That's why I am always likes to work in gym to extent, which my body could easily bear and able to manage, as sometime doing some extra work and over stretching we might get ourself in some sort of trouble by pulling some of our muscles or damaging the bones.

If you are not pushing yourself, then how do you expect your muscles to adapt to new stimulus when they can already comfortably manage what you are doing?

Seems kinda pointless, to me, to be in the gym if that's what you are doing...

    • Thanks for all the replies! I also wanted to ask if wheels that were fitted on Ford Falcons would fit the 350GTs as well? In the area I'm at there aren't that many options for secondhand wheels and new ones here are way out of my budget. From what I've seen, most of the wheels that are available that were fitted on Ford Falcons have an offset of +33 to +36, with a centre bore of 70.5mm whereas the stock 350GT's ones are 66mm, can't seem to find any hubcentric rings that fit that difference though.
    • 215/45/18 tyres are probably a little on the low side compared to the factory tyre, it should be closer to a 245/45/19, which will get you about an extra 11mm of height, and should make you speedo read a bit closer to reality. 245/45/19s will be a bit too far the other way and you risk a speeding ticket as your speedo might read slower than your actual speed.  245/40/19s would be correct if you are going to 19in rims, they will give you a similar total diameter to the 245/45/18 tyres.
    • That's something I forgot to put in my list. The aggressive anti-squat in R32 is a f**king menace. I still need to decide if I'm going to drag the subframe out of my car and weld in the GKTech corrector kit. The main reason to dither is the need to switch to spherical joints in the lower arm to account for the twist induced in the rear pivot caused by lowering the front pivot. And yes...we do put better subframes in R32s, and I wish I'd gotten an S14 one instead of an A31 when I did the "take off and nuke it from orbit" HICAS delete all those years ago.
    • I have been looking at some setting on the alarms for the Q60 and what buttons do and so and also been looking for details on the alarm in my V37 which is a standard issue with the car. settings like window roll up and a few others seem to not work at all. i cant seem to find exact info on V37 alarms so Q60 is all i can really go off i have not tried 400Z alarm settings or info yet so that will be next. any one got like a sheet of info on the alarm system in the V37 as all my documents are in japanese but i thought the system would basically be like standard through similar models?
    • I had a fuel smell coming from the drivers rear and pulled the tank out to inspect where it was coming from, turns out the breather hose from the tank to the filler neck was perished. I’m going to Japan next week and I’ll grab it while I’m there  pulled the oil tank apart and started cleaning this crap out of it, some brake cleaner and rags got it looking new again
