This is why China is an autocracy...it's just cheaper for you guys to let someone take over and you're too tight ass to do anything about it.

Same thing will happen here. We don't stand up to these fines and bullshit; we won't be standing up to bigger threats to our basic rights.

F*ck that, I don't have a concession card. I'm already pissed off about having to pay $41 for a noise test, let alone another $10 to catch a tram to EPA headquaters.

you're asian and you dont even know the art of fare evasion?

hold myki in hand, be vigilant, tap when you spot those kents outside.

nailed it.

Ha, you guys are amateurs. Before MYKI came in, it was a case of "Oh, me solly. Me no spick engleesh" whenever the inspectors came around. If you were a white caucasian male, probably wouldn't of worked. But because I'm an white caucasian male trapped in an asians body, it's very believable.

As soon as the inspector gets off the train, I'd be like "Damn flamin' snake in the grass, that was a close one mate. Ol' bugger almost ad' me"

I don't often laugh out loud.

But when I do, my coffee dribbles down my chin and I have to go get paper towel to clean my desk :(

the amazing thing about myki is you can go to the CBD without touching-on, attempting to touch-off through the gate and when it doesnt work, go up to the person supervising and say its not working and they will (no questions asked) let you through. done it twice now. especially effective at peak hour when theres a queue.

Sorry, back on topic. Are we EPAing government vehicles yet?

No, we're not because that's a stupid idea....

False reports to combat false reports is disadvantageous to our goal... A review of the Guilty until Proven Innocent, even WITH evidence to the contrary, system that they're running.

i have a very convincing fob accent, because i am fob, but unfortunately, what i got was "it does not matter whether you understand me or not, you hav to follow the rules"

EPA staff carpark dobbing IS STILL ON! Won't do it for a while yet though, cos I noticed the other day there was a "Anonymous" viewer of this thread. EPA is watching.....

Ahhh my friend, you have plenty to learn.

You keep stringing it out for as long as possible and make it difficult for them to communicate with you to the point they drop a racist remark thinking you won't understand and then BOOM!!! You drop the accent and now you've got the mofo on the defence.

Long story short: he apologises, you nark up, he decides to drop the fine if you promise to not report him, EPA HQ blows up. Everyone wins. The End.

(DUH! I wrote to you in the email saying I was there!) BUT not even close to the road/time I was apparently spotted on!

Ah see you told them TOO much. As with all negotiation and Govt body related - Only say what you need to.

Should've just given them proof about the 2-2.30pm part and left it at that. THEN play the next card if they made up another "approximation".

Still though - you are entitled to see who it was that made the report, and the paperwork associated under freedom of information.

I'd write another letter if you were NOT in the area at the said time, outlining it all and have a quick look at some freedom of information. Hell even put it in the letter they provide the proof of the report, as they are legally required to do

Don't they dress up undercover occasionally? Im sure I've seen them handing out fines in hoodies

Unfortunatley for them, I dress up undercover occasionally too............ as an asian village fisherman ;)

i concede. master.

You have been trained my son. Now go forth and unleash your fare-evading fury!

In hindsight, yeah I did give them too much information. But having said that, I would not have imagined a governing body like EPA to take advantage of that and stoop that low in order to get someone (an innocent someone too mind you) to do an exhaust noise test.

I have tried and tried and tried, but they simply refuse to give any further detail in regards to the incident. Sounds very suss, but not a massive amount I can at this stage.

You need to be more authoritative

If it is 'law' that they are required to hand over that information.

Then find the section reference. And quote it when they say no. If you tell them they are required by law, I'm sure shitting of their dacks or let me get my manager for you will ensue.

Police do it all the time with fines etc if they get details wrong, EPA doing the same comes as no surprise.

    • LOL.... a good amount of people (not all) on that continent seem to know everything and like to measure things in bananas, football fields, statue of liberties instead of the metric system lol.
    • I assume the modules are similar enough, so if you've had no issues I don't see why I would. I have tried to find a wiring diagram for the FPCM / fuel pump circuit, but I can't find it anywhere. Otherwise, I would just do some wire cutting and joining at the FPCM and give the 12 V supplied to the FPCM directly to the pump instead. If you know anyone that could help with wiring diagrams, I'd be very happy
    • If it dies, then bypass. The task isn't difficult. I have one running on a standard R32 FPCM. That's after nearly 20 years of it running an 040, which pull substantially more current than the Walbro. They're not the same module, but I'd hope it indicates that the R33 one should be man enough for the job. I think people kill them when putting proper sized pumps on them, not these little toy pumps we're talking about here.
    • Silicone spray won't hurt anything. And if it does, that's an opportunity to put some solid steel spherical bushings in, so you can really learn what suspension noise sounds like, If you're going to try it, just spray one bush at a time, so you can work out which one is actually noisy. My best guess is that if the noise started only since putting the coilovers in, then it is just noise being transmitted up through the top mounts of the struts, and not necessarily "new" noise from bushes. But it's almost impossible to know.
    • Are you saying the 34 is SUV height, and not that we're talking about an SUV here? (because if we're talking about an SUV, you don't fix them. You just replace them when something breaks. Not worth establishing sufficient emotional connection with an SUV to warrant doing any work on one). I wouldn't jack my car up on a short little loop of 10mm steel rod poking out through a hole in the bumper bar, front or rear end. I realise that we're probably not talking about that type of loop at the front, being the one under/behind the bar on a Skyline.... but even for that one, trying to jack up on what amounts to a thin piece of steel, designed purely for withstanding a horizontal tension force, not a vertical compressive force (and so would be prone to buckling/crushing) and, my most particular bitch about it - located RIGHT AT THE EXTREME FRONT OF THE CAR, applying a load up through the radiator support panel, etc, with almost the entire mass of the car cantilevered between there and the rear wheels? Nope. Not doing that. Not on the regular. That structure out there in front of the front crossmember is not designed to carry load in the vertical direction. Not really designed to carry any load at all, really. The chassis rail that the tow point is connected to would be fine loaded in tension, as per towing. Not intended to carry the mass of the whole car, especially loaded all on one rail, with twisting and all sorts of shitty load distribution going on. No, I will happily drive up on some pieces of wood, thanks. That can only happen on driven wheels, and they are at the other end of the car, and this problem does not exist at that end of the car. And even then, I have been known to drive up on at least 1x piece of 2x8 each side at the rear, simply to reduce the amount of jack pumping necessary to get the car up high enough for the jack stands. What really really shits me about Skylines is the lack of decent places for chassis stands at either end of the car. You'd think they'd be designed into the crossmembers.
