I bought my V35 direct from an importer called Auto Japan in Maddington in WA.

The owner Fauzer was open and honest, and was only happy to help. He provided me with the import papers and Jap de-reg papers on request.

got mine off the showroom of nagoya motors caringbah, very good condition,

although the gloss and shine did deceive some very small cosmetic inconsistencies (can't call it damage since it's minor)

maybe in several years i can afford to go back and trade my 09 v36 for a later 13/14 v36

Don't want to go too off-topic but just a quick one.. Looking at grabbing a car from a dealer in Japan in the very near future.. So is the process basically the same as the auction process through an agent ?

Just tell them who you want to buy from and which car then de-reg, put it on a boat and ship it over? (Simplified of course ahah)

I don't have the authority to update the list on Post#2 anymore but the rankings themselves tell the story of who NOT to go to.

Thanks for the mention, I'm sure you'll love the car when it arrives. :) If anyone is interested to see some example auction inspections undertaken in Japan to understand the efforts we go to at auction to ensure we source only the best cars, you can check them out here: http://prestigemotorsport.com.au/inspection-examples/

Wanted to put in a good word for Iron Chef Imports. Been looking to import with the help of Troy since December last year. Had no luck finding a suitable car in my price range (bloody US market exploding). Regardless, he made the searching experience enjoyable and I plan on using them when I buy my next car.

    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
